Leaving for 5 days, what should I do?
    #2137572 - 11/26/03 11:33 AM (20 years, 4 months ago)

I am leaving my house for about 5 days for the thanksgiving holiday, but my cakes are still fruiting. I have a fairly automated ultrasonic humidifier setup, so I am wondering if it will be okay to leave these guys unattended for 5 days. Is there anything I should do?

The humidifier is on a auto-timer correct?

If so and you are already at the fruiting stage you should be fine.

If it's still on the first flush you may sacrifice a second flush, by allowing the frist flush to sit and sop up the mycelium.

but other than that, it's better than nothing.

If they are just starting to pin, then you should return right about when they are ready to pick.

yeah i got everything on a timer.

I would say that 3 cakes are just starting their first flush, and the other 6 are starting their second flushes...

I will pick everything that possibly looks pickable just before leaving.

that's too bad shaftnmp...you shouldn't let growing shrooms keep you from seeing your family at thanksgiving, unless you have issues with your family in which case shrooms aren't the reason anyway...don't let drugs dictate your life THAT much...
