you won't add weight every work out
thats insane
but it sounds like you are practicing good form and breathing techniques
with all of that taken into consideration
you're max each year should go up at least 40 pounds
and then reaching a pinnacle in gains around your body weight

don't forget your ab's, lower back and cardio

This is SS protocol.

I need to modify the program in order to be successful - because these presses are killing me.

every three months you change the way you lift

you take a two week break then
instead of
12x,10x,8x
you do 10x,8x,6-AsManyAsYouCan

you also switch it up
maybe doing some weird exercise that requires 6-4-4reps

I work out twice a week

I do shoulders, back, biceps, laterals, wings because all of the equipment is there
then I come back two days later
and do chest/triceps/legs

form is the most important
so is cardio
you join the army and you're stuck in there because you have to know when to run away from (or chase) the enemy

You dont need to find new exercises. Just switch the order in which you do them and make sure you're progressing with either weight and/or reps. switching the reps around like you said could be a good idea though
