Need help with a coir/Verm monotub
    #21375434 - 03/07/15 05:12 PM (9 years, 2 months ago)

So I'm probably gonna start a coir and vermiculite monotub soon. I've heard when it's all dry you can get about five to six ounces of just one tub. Sounds pretty enticing. But I'm not quite sure what to use as the base substrate. Should I inocculate some rye or should I crush up some BFR cakes and do it that way? Suggestions?

rye would be your best bet, it would take around 20 cakes for a standard 66 qt tub

Gotcha. How many rye quart jars would it take approximately?

Between 5-8 quarts depending on the spawn ratio you wanted. You could do a mini mono with 8-12 cakes to get your feet wet if you wanted. I usually pull 2 dry oz first flush with mine
