Sectoring

Hey guys

So Im still not exactly confident on picking sectors It probably doesnt help that I need glasses real bad haha

Anyways here is a photo of a plate maybe 14 transfers away from spore.

This was my best at making out sectors. Maybe Im close, or maybe I still dont get it at all haha. I think I missed one at 11 oclock.

Help me get on the right track as Ive been trying to learn this for a while now

its tough to tell sometimes.
are u using low nutrients in those plates?

I think these plates are PDA 10 10 half litre drop of honey, not really low nutes particularly yea?

some times low nute plates make stringy sectors i have noticed, thats why i was asking.
not sure what "10 10" means? 10g agar, 10g flakes?
the pic is a bit blurry, so its hard for me to tell

Hah yea sorry I meant to type 10 grans, 10 grams agar/flakes

The photo is the back side of the agar plate, maybe thats why it looks blurry? The culture kinda fuzzes out a bit too

Maybe Ill pour a special plate and transfer this culture to low nutes see if that helps!

Oh wow, I totally misunderstood what you were trying to tell me last night :facepalm:

But now in day light I gotcha. :lol:

At first I thought like wow man maybe I need to keep transfering but after reading Sto's guide through another 15 times and taking into consideration my agar recipe I think I have a better grasp.

Up in the light I can definitly make out sectoring but it is wicked fuzzy which might be why it isnt coming so easy to me
