Inoculation to colonization how many days?

Greetings all first post Inoculation to colonization how many days? 5 cc of Psilocybe cyanescens : Wavy Cap Spore Syringe Microscopy Kit per Supplemented Sawdust Block w/ Rye Grain Pocket, Mushroom Grow Bag w/ injection site - 3lb, 4 bags stored at 78 degrees, and using this inoculation method (not the product). It has been 22 days and not a sign of life, not even contamination. This is the third try and always the same results. The supplies are from Shroomery vendors. Any ideas as to what I could be doing wrong? thanks for your time motocamper

your problem is you're using the wrong species Psilocybe cyanescens is a species no one has ever really successfully grown indoors.
if you want to grow Psilocybe cyanescens you need to start an outdoor wood chip bed.
Psilocybe cyanescens also likes a little bit cooler temperatures so if you want them to germinate 78 is on the really hot side. that's about the upper warmth you would even want for psilocybe cubensis the mushrooms we all grow.
good luck with Psilocybe cyanescens though chances are you won't see anything, even long time mycologists that do this for their life or more than a hobby would have a hard time with that species. you would have better luck getting a ticket to some place where they grow and finding them than getting them to fruit yourself unless you're pretty good with outdoor grows and wood lovers.

First of all, Welcome to the Shroomery.
Disregard that last post. Pretty poor information wrapped in bad advice in that last post. Cold weathered species of psilo's have been successfully fruited indoors, and Psilo Cyans are easy to grow. To date, mainly, you just have to live in the right hardiness zone for them to grow in naturally. You can "zone cool" a room to the specific temps required to fruit this specie in if your environment reaches and sustains the temperature ranges (45-55F) sufficient for the fruiting of the specie in question.
I have a way to be able to control and sustain an environment suitable for the fruiting of this and other cold weathered species of wood loving Psilocybe mushrooms no matter what climate you live in all year around. I project that in about a year or less I will have comfortably generated the stake ($) required to begin research.
Furthermore, The same temperature parameters apply to Psilo Cyans culture and grain spawn that apply to most species of mushrooms. 70-75F. The difficulty levels come in when going from growing a tropical species of mushroom to a cold weathered specie. It's a different mindset in the fruiting phase. Fruiting cold weathered species takes a little time to wrap the mind around.
You can check out my Psilo. Cyan grow (a work in progress) at the link provided below. A lot of good info regarding this specie in that thread. Good luck! https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21227179#21227179

You chose a lignicolous species for your first grow! That takes balls!
They can and have been grown indoors! You can do it! Also if you pull it off they are usually very potent. I would spawn to some type of hardwood chips, then maybe fruit in a mono. I am not sure of the proper temps and humidity but I am sure somebody here does.
You can also make an outdoor bed from the spawn depending on the weather where you live and the timing.

you haven't even done it yet and you're doing them in outdoor beds anyway.
find me any grow worthy of calling a success(not a proof of concept) of Psilocybe cyanescen or Psilocybe azurecens indoors.
like I said good luck. Ham is a decent cultivator it's no surprise he could get some colonized bags of Psilocybe cyanescen but don't hold your breath waiting to see some fruits. most people can't get their outdoor beds to fruit and outdoor beds are your best bet at seeing fruits from that species

I'm not trying to be debby downer but I've seen a lot of very skilled people just fail hard at psilocybe cyanescen and azurcens, they get all the way to colonizing spawn and maybe some substrate and nothing happens. I would call a few fruits very lucky. if you're doing an outdoor bed and you know what you're doing you can grow a lot of them though.

You have been rated for being very optimistic
It is way beyond anything I would try for a long time. It is a totally different animal than cubes!
Very interesting reading out there though!

Yeah, haha I would recommend starting with cubes - very forgiving. And getting your first fruits is so exciting!

Thanks for all the replies. I just want to an outdoor plot of woodlovers. What must some do to properly inoculate a bags with psilocybe cyan? Are cyan just slow to colonize a 3 lb bag? months instead of weeks thanks motocamper

I believe they are slow from what iv read preety sure just germinate on grain in cooler temp and then spawn to wood chips in your garden there is lots of info on here if you search
