Who here is in the service industry and gets off late? I'm a sous chef and get off either 12.15 or 2.15 and then the bar... Who can relate?

I've worked several years as a receptionnist/concierge for 5 star hotels. Either I worked the afternoon shift until 11Pm or the graveyard shift until 7am. Working nights can be pretty tough...

I did it for years, quit two years ago, and never looked back.
Never again.
Never.
Again.

I just started a job this week. It's pretty much the only one I ever had where I work Mon-Fri until 7pm.
It's fucking awesome

I dunno if my job counts as the service industry, it's retail so I guess it depends on how you look at it.
Anyways. I work graveyard. 10pm to 8am. I feel like my job has taken my life from me. When I worked closing shift (3 to 11pm) I could go do things on my off days at least. Now I really can't. By the time I wake up on my off days, everything is already closing down and nothing is really open before I have to go sleep.

With my face against the floor I can’t see who knocked me out of the way. I don’t want to get back up but I have to so it might as well be today. Nothing appeals to me no one feels like me, I’m too busy being calm to disappear. I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear. You can't wake up, this is not a dream. I often did 3 days evening shifts and 2 days night shift which wasn't so bad I guess. What bothered me the most with graveyard was that I had zero social life. I'd mostly sleep during my days off.

I'm a bartender and bar back. The joint I bartend at is a small bar, the place I bar back at is a giant corporate bar. I like the hours, they suit me well. At the small joint I get off at 3, unless I close early when it's dead. The large place I get off at 3:30-4 on weeknights and 430-5 on weekends unless I get cut.
