Is this Lophophora williamsii decipiens?

A friend of mine took this photo from a nursery. They say it's Lophophora williamsii var. decipiens although it looks like a regular Lophophora williammsii to my eyes due to rib formation and flower shape and color.

What is the veredict? is it decipiens or not?

Lophophora "decipiens" or Lophophora williamsii var. decipiens or whatever you want to call it is nothing more than a name someone (Croizat) coined to a plant that seemed slightly different from other willies. I have one such plant, and the only thing that sets it apart from the others is the colour of the flower which is a more vivid pink.
People should realize that a lot of the names floating around are manifestations of vanity from people who want to be recognized as plant discoverers OR sales pitches from dealers trying to profit from collectors.
Is your friend (or you) contemplating buying that plant? It's a nice specimen, regardless of the name tag, and that's what you should consider. Just my 2 cents.

That's my thought! thank you for confirm. Anyway I don't see this cactus like the so called decipiens variation I see in other photos.
Although I don't discard to buy it in a future, I don't use to buy old plants and it's far from home. The nursery said that this cactus is 20 years old cultivated from dutch seeds.

I see that cactus in picture may be "decipiens" (because vendor says lol) ..still it looks like pretty much old and nice williamsii cactus.
Here vendors sell it as "williamsii var. decipiens" or something. Those plants I have is someway like Willy but OP picture is clear peyote cactus. Clear ribs and so on.
Lsoares said nice about those plants, some species is more "name" than any other species.
I see clearly williamsii button cactus.. I don't know what that "decipiens is but plants of mine did very little seeds and seems those are self-sterile. Other willys is self-fertile.
But otherway, even some l. fricii is labeled in nurseries as "l. williamsii var. fricii" ..some have it like "l. diffusa var. fricii"
Also different nurseries have diffent names. Some say fricii is diffusa, some doesn't. Koehresii is also said as Willy variant, but I don't believe so myself.
My lophophora decipiens picture from last summer.

This so very true. I can't remember the last time someone sold something to just sell something. Instead they wanna sell something with a huge markup. I would say buy cause that is a damn beautiful plant regardless of the name.
