Hello everyone,
I need some help to decide if my jars are 100% colonised.
I did search and look for guides, and also aksed people's opinions and tips, seems like i did the sterilization quite good, i had no problems at all.
So let me write the full story:
I could not find pint jars in my area, and nothing similar to wide mouth open jars , i went with 235ml jars, but i still have no idea how i will get the cake out...
Oh yeah i used Corn Flour instead of BRF, once again i could not find that, not even brown rice grains, i ordered online and i should get some in the next 2 weeks, but i didn't want to wait that much.
The sterilization was done in normal pots, I used 2 pots for 10 jars, and did the sterilization for almost 4 hours.
I did inject the spores in open air(Australia,Amazonas,Hawaii,Ecuador,B+), but before doing so i cleaned the room well, and also used 96% pure alcohol diluted to 70%.
For like 2 days after the inoculation i couldn't see any changes, but after 4th day i could see some of the jars showing up signs of life.
The temperature was between 24-26c or 75-79 F.
Yesterday when i did look up i saw that both jars (Aus) look to be 100% colonized, i mean, i could not see any spot not covered by the mycelium, does that mean i have to start my 1 week consolidation period?
The others are a bit more slowly, Ec and Haw are also almost full covered, Ama are somewhere at 75% , one B+ jar is at 70% and another at 50% ( the second B+ didn't show life signs for almost 5 days)
Bellow are the pics of the Aus jars that look to be 100% colonized,it's quite visible on the other sides, there's also a bit of condensation inside the jars ( from what i heard that means no harm to my cakes)
Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I inoculated the jars 12 days ago

Sorry for the bad pics, unfortunately i do not have a very good camera.
I hope i added as much info as i could, and if i missed something , just let me know )

They look fully colonized. Just make sure you let them sit for another week before birthing.

They look pretty good to me. Make sure to give another week for the mycellium to gain its hold on the substrate even better and consolidate itself.

You will most likely have to break the jars to get them out if you plan and fruiting as cakes or you could spawn them to bulk. But you do have some nice looking mycelium.

Unfortunately i did not inform myself very well about bulk spawning, so yeah i will have to break the jars down, not much of a waste since they're like 0.05$, i hope the cakes will stay as a whole.
Also i have 5 more cakes that are like 10 days old, i used Rye flour this time, to be honest in the end the mixture looked close to a pasta (a lot of vermiculite and flour went to waste that way) so i got in some more dry vermiculite.
Some of the jars started colonised really fast, and it seems that the Mycelium is much thicker and whiter than the corn flour jars,i'll post pics later

Yeah, i don't know , first days i was checking them like 3 times a day. After reading and reading on the forums i understood that patience is the key. Later i would check them once in 2 days, maybe my jars prefer privacy?

When the jars are completely white they are fully colonized, then you must wait a week for consolidation. It does appear you will need to break the jars to get those cakes out but don't worry the cakes are very resilient even to a little bruising, or you could just crumble the cakes up and spawn the to bulk.
