how does this look?
    #21364925 - 03/05/15 07:57 AM (9 years, 10 months ago)

i used fully colonized WBS jars put into trays consisting of vermiculite coffee grounds and coconut shavings. i let the trays incubate for 5 days. then switched to a fruiting chamber at 99% humidity. good air exchange. residual sunlight. i dont think i used a thick enough casting layer. Although I've read psilocybe cubensis don't require casting layer, what are your opinions?

5 days is a pretty short time to allow for colonization and consolidation of the mycelium. There are places in your pics that look like were still trying to be colonized. They look healthy though. I just would have given them more time before introducing to fruiting conditions. Just my .02:super:

To add: You don't have to case cubes

You don't have to case cubes, but it can really help if you're somewhere dry.  Those look good, but like yader says, they look like they were fruited a little early.  Probably won't hurt much, though.

You can start worrying if you haven't seen any in nine days.

I've fruited tubs that looked like that, they all worked out perfectly.  I was also always under the impression that you don't want to get them 100% colonized up top before fruiting, so I would almost go as far as to say that is ideal. As for the pins, I'm with griegen, but I may even up it to 14 days, depending on factors like temp, light, and FAE.
