How long does it take your PCs take to come up to pressure on those things ? I have a hotplate from a different manufacturer and it takes forever to heat up my Presto.

Not low on funds here, I just don’t like to waste my hard earned $. I get what I want, I just like to pay what I want too

I was wondering why you didn't go with the 23 quart presto? They're the same price on ebay.. The 23 quart holds 10 quart jars... The 23 quart is standard size for this hobby...

The 23 qt would be too tall for my range hood. Grill to hood is only about 15 inches so I got what would fit

Your going to have a great time with It.. The difference Is 3.75 inch between the two..
My advice Is have an extra gasket laying around when the time comes.
I use olive oil on the gasket and It last allot longer. Without the oil they get dried out to where they don't seal any longer..

I've had the same seal on my presto for about 7-8 years. It's been leaking about 2 years. No cracks and still holds in perfect just shrank enough to leak while pressuring up. I really need to replace it. I've put it off for this long though who knows when I'll finally order one. #slackin

If your getting it up to 20 psi or above regularly u will drastically reduce the life of your Gasket. Just check it regularly cause it sucks to find out its shot half way thru a cycle with dishes waiting in front of your hood.

Naw its bought. Been looking at new ones for awhile, Purchased this one second hand but it still cost a pretty penny. Commercial grade ftw, no plastic to melt or catch on fire.
This is a different brand and got it of craigslist but Avantco makes one that is very similar that I was eyeing for a while https://www.webstaurantstore.com/avantco-cfd10-ten-rack-stainless-steel-food-dehydrator-with-removable-door-1000w/177CFD10.html?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=GoogleShopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIhvraud3a5AIV_yCtBh0SgQzYEAQYASABEgLOYfD_BwE

It's a beauty for sure.
Thanks for the link, that's a decent price. I've got a 5 tray Excalibur dehydrator. At some point, I may take the components and put them in a homemade stainless box to up the capacity.
For now it works, and an upgrade is low on the totem pole.
I'm sure you'll enjoy your dehydrator for years to come.

For a long time now I been using wooden clothespins to hold my grow bags seams/creases in place while holding my impulse sealer with both hands while I seal the bags.
With doing It that way I don't move or handle the bags in which I eliminate winkles and uneven seams.
I decided to improve my technique by mounting my sealer on a stand to make the process smoother.
The impulse sealer height Is adjustable
I use a lab stand with a cast iron funnel ring to support the sealer.
The base of the stand had to be clamped down.
It works very nice, I'm glad I did the project.

I use large "potatoe chip bag clips" for same purposes ... But! .... Geeezus! That impulse positioning apparatus is absolutely ingenious!!
Its always the most simplistic ideas of the "why didn't I think of that!" caliber that can make the biggest impact upon technique and efficiency!
My LFH is large (2'x 4') .. Yet it never seems like one has enough of a work space footprint....so ... I'm going to take your ingenuity and adapt it to not use any footprint by mounting an articulated arm to the side of my hoods plexi hood housing for an easy "swing into action" application! Many, many thanks for posting that!!!

It doesn't need to be adjustable.. Mount it on a board somehow and use book or blocks of wood to get the proper height for different size bags and situations..
Thanks for your input, I appreciate It...
