Nice. I appreciate the notes.

I'm going to give your method a shot fairly soon to see how it goes. I may split the block in half along the cleave lines just to help things along.

My grey matter is always spinning up new ways to skin that cat.

I will have to try that. I'm not a super fan of the butcher knife for cleaving the coir sheets.

Thanks.

That thing is sweet. Been looking in to brewing kettles ever since Lotkid posted his bigguns. Nice piece of gear.

Got some more info on these things. Went and picked up 3 of the size that is one bigger than the one I've been using for a long time... now I think I should have bought more. Lol.

*DRUM ROLL*

"Bang Bang Drainer"

These are also known as "wash tubs" but if you search them up that way they only go to about 12" in diameter. My old one is 22.5" and these three new ones are 27". The old one can handle up to 30 jars worth of grain, but does best with 20. These new ones should be able to handle 40 jars worth effectively. That's the hope anyway.

Don't double post yo.

But that is cool Ive found for large amount (sandman420) that a cotton sheet is amazing.

That barrel I posted does everything except dry grain. I just dump it on the cotton sheet with 2 fans on it.

At first the moisture soaks to the bottom so flipping the grain around to get the underside floor and cotton is key for a nice quick dry.

Can't ever pass up the plasticware sections at the dollars stores. Found these beauties. Square ones were 8 for a buck, and the round ones were 10 for a buck. The lids even snap on pretty tight. Gonna clean them out tomorrow!

Sweet strainers. Are the holes small enough to stop wbs mixes from getting through? I love using wbs, but straining it has been a bitch haha.

I know many prefer rye and oats but I get the seed for practically free:eek:

They do not stop 100% of the milo or especially millet sized particles. You will have some pass through. Still great!

A minimal amount of oats make their way out of those strainers. It's not many to speak of. WBS though... I personally wouldn't attempt it.

I didn't think the mashbtuns (?) They usually use could move that amount if grain so I settled for an electric auger with a speed controller.

I'll look into canvas cloth.. wouldn't hurt to try.

Last batch I focused on just drying the sheet out. Shit my grain looks amazing.
