I pasteurize 2 to 5 packed qt Mason jars at a time with mine. Pro tip - pack'em kind of tightly so they don't float around but you'll have to cook them longer to get to the core time. Or just weigh them down. Comes in really handy if I only want to make up a quart or two of casing.

I dont know if its really qualifys as a tool, but i have a bunch of old milk crates and they are very handy for jar storage. Crates stack easily and very solid. Each crate fits 13 qt jars comfortably with the ability to stack crates on top, 18 if you dont stack em.

Featuring my two assistants

Im limited on space and only have room for shelving for my tubs, then a stack of crates of empty jars, and a stack of crates of colonizing jars, since theres plenty of gaps it works perfectly with allowing light and the jars breathing room.

Sweet! I also finally got around to getting mine setup. What are you going to be using for your RH setting? I can't seem to find consistent info. I've got mine at 50% right now. Here's mine set up (they're just on the ground):

I want to mount both my ink-birds onto one thing and kinda consolidate it and get the snake tangle of cords cleaned up.

Since I took that pic I've taken the lids off my shoeboxes because... aparently that was dumb of me  This is a temporary setup for my cubes while I arrange my grow space better (I have to change grow closets essentially). It is kinda freaking me out to open-air-ish fruit them... I keep wanting to put the lids back on.

I guess the wiring in my house sucks or some shit but that inkbird blew out a GFCI switch in my house when I
hooked up a heater to it. It doesn't have fault protection like the willhi controllers do.

That’s interesting Asura.  I don’t have heat hooked to it right now, it wasn’t much more so I got it thinking I will need it eventually.  I’ll post when I do.  Do you know what else is on that same breaker?

@Shaper, my RH is set at 95 for pans and some Galindoi right now

Fuck that high? Damn! Where are you getting your information? Last I read was 70-75%, so I bumped mine up to that yesterday. How long does your water last from your tank, as in how frequently are you changing it, and what size is it? I feel like growing cubes in boxes and bins are super easy to find the right information for, but anything in a martha? Nope. This info is all over the place. Do you also tape up the bottom of yours like jake does?

Sorry for the bombardment of questions,

What type of heating element did you use? I ended up using one of these with a dome lamp for my heating element based on some recommendations I read and my assumption about energy use. My building is almost 100 years old, pretty sure the electrical hasn't been updates since somewhere between 1960-1980 and I haven't been having problems with it.

Haha, no problem!

The pan cyans are supposed to be at 98% the first few days then dropped to 92% I beleive.  This is my first adventure with pans.  I did however just find some Galindoi pins yesterday, was so freaking excited!  I don’t think they are supposed to need a high RH but figured they may not pin anyway so didn’t care, thought they would suffer through it lol

If you have it this high, you have to watch for dripping....like this pan got.

Right now I’ve got a fan, on a timer which isn’t right.  It is just one of those with the pins you lift or push down so I have it set to go off for 15 minutes every 90 minutes.

I also just have a regular humidifier which I fill once a day, day and a half.  The only time it goes on full is when the fan comes on.  I really would like a different set up.  Was looking at reptile forgers or something else easier to refill.

No, I don’t have the bottom taped but that is where I get my fresh air from.

This is not a finished set up.just testing things out and learning as I go.  It was thanks to you I got the inkbird though and my only regret is that I didn’t set it up as soon as I got it home from the post office lol

Damn, thanks! Ok, good to know when I get some pans going. Right now it's mostly for edibles/gourmets and I've got some cubes living in there for lack of anywhere else to put them (still finding a permanent home in my new place).

I got a $12 humidifier on clearance just to fuck around with for this project. Let me know what you end up going with. What are your thoughts on that JOC humidifier? It's like 1.12 gallons of water, but also $40, which seems annoyingly pricey (and I'm sure worse for you in Canada).

And I remember that about the inkbird! You buying one convinced ME that I needed to get off my ass and buy one lol.

And, just to keep things on track, here's a new shot of what I've been working with. Those shoeboxes are on flush 5-6 each, so I figured if this doesn't work well enough these are good test subjects lol.

Oysters and enoki up top using Jooce bottles. Cubes and spare gear below that.

For my gourmet grows I did 95% at the high and 85-90 as the low for initial
pinning then upped the fresh air and set the high to 90 and low to 75 til
harvest. Worked well for shiitake and LM.

50% rh is too low in my opinion for GHs without having to supplement with
misting no matter what you're growing but I guesss I could be wrong

Thanks. Yeah, I bumped it up to 75% last night. I'm going to let it go at that for a bit and see how it goes, and if things aren't looking great I'll go up to 85%.

Do you all have links to where you're reading this stuff? I'd love to dive into a good thread or two that has a lot of martha info. I feel like what I've found is all over the place with what they say to do.
