Cloned pins..now what?
    #21362342 - 03/04/15 05:25 PM (9 years, 10 months ago)

Couple things I'm hoping you guys can clear up for me  I've cloned a nice pin from the first cluster that popped up and after 24hrs is fuzzing up nicely  once the myc hits the agar is this myc considered a monoculture? Or will there be different sectors I need to isolate? And how highly will the characteristics of the resulting fruit match the parent? Sorry if nooby questions...I'm feelin a bit chatty  :super:

depends, chances are you won't have an isolate. and it will take more than a few transfers to even see sectoring. really depends on how many strains are in your original grow. and how those all mingled together.

It'll have fruiting genetics but won't be a monoculture. I've only just got into agar. It's easier to sector from a fruit than from spores though. Remember it's best to clone fruits with the characteristics you want, such as large fruits or higher potency. Then you sector your clone and test each monostrain if it grows well and potency and just keep refining. That's at least what I've read and what I'm attempting to do now.
