Stalled?
    #21359668 - 03/04/15 06:56 AM (9 years, 2 months ago)

Okay so I started my project on 2/20 doing PF Tek.  When I was making the brf I added a lot of water (a lot of water). Anyway after my jars came out of the PC they looked fine so I figured I dodged a bullet. Anyway, fast forward past inoculation and all that, I think my jars may have stalled. Basically near the shoulders of the jar (I'm using pint jars, instead of sliding the cakes out I was just going to take the lids off the cars in the fc) There is thick white growth, where there is kind of an air pocket between the cake? The growth has reached past the edge slightly but nothing noticable. I would be more than happy to put pics up later, but I'm in a rush to get to class. Also, the jars are in shoeboxes. It's only been 12 days, and this is my first time. Am I being over anxious?

Okay I'll get them later then. I just took them out of the shoeboxes, thinking that perhaps they were restricting airflow.

Jars don't need airflow, or FAE, during colonization. They do need GE, which a shoebox would allow plenty of.
