Cryptology said: There is no way to do that besides pointing a heating lamp at the wall and warming the entire closet... I've since then removed the heating mat. And I check humidity constantly - always at 89% - 95% Even with seed mat a foot below the SGFC - Now only heat lamp pointing at all. I will have to bear with this until spring hits.. otherwise the closet drops to 18c or lower...
Still I have questions.
What should I do - cut off the ones with broken veil (most of them), or wait for all cats to fruit fully?
harvesting is personal preference. there's 100s of pictures and threads about it. try out the advanced options in the search engine. you can search for one post in each thread so you don't get multiple results of the same thread. you can even search for posts with images.

Oh, so there is no difference when fruits are harvested? Ok.. I will try and search, which I have done, but came up with no conclusive answers.

you harvest them when they mature. easy as that. the veil opens they're mature they only will drop more and more spores everywhere at that point so harvest.
if you want to harvest all at once, or harvest as they mature. it's not that hard.

Lol harvest right before or after the veil breaks. Don't let the caps open all the way and drop spores everywhere making a mess and possibly affecting later flushes.

See, that's what I mean..
I will just harvest them all.. dunk and go for second flush then.. I don't know how to distinguish between flushes unless they all are cut...
See, I wasn't sure.. if I should just cut the ready ones and leave the others.. and if I left the others then more might sprout.. and the flush would never end... that's why I asked.
Btw since I removed the heating matt they grew much thicker over night! Holy cow...
So, I guess it's time to make cuts! Thanks!

It's really up to you...I usually wait until I can harvest everything at once. Sometimes this means some fruits are over mature and others are under. The flushes will be more uniform with limited genetics/isolates of course. IMO it's easier to do this than harvest a few everyday while trying to get a nice 2nd flush. Maybe I'm just lazy, I don't know

chances are you wont get distinct flushes until you mess with limited genetic cultures, clones, or isolates. you can chose to harvest all at once when the biggest guy pops or harvest as they mature. I have found that when the biggest mushroom breaks its veil the smaller ones soon open their veils, It's probably a hormone signal.

You think the less mature fruits use the spores from the mature ones as a signal to catch up?

You can see this pretty clearly in this GIF I made. The tiny guys just give up on growing and pop their veils right when the big guys go.

I doubt they use the spores. it's signals in the secondary mycelium network. fruiting bodies are tertiary mycelium.

This all wonderful info, and thank you for the Gif~ I believe I am on the right track. I just consumed ones with the first batch of thin stems - no distinct visuals, but nice warm feeling and altered ego. I believe the thicker ones I am now drying will produce much better results. Thanks again!
