Hello everyone, the 19th February i did my first LC with honey and spore's syringe, 12 jar (100cc H2O 3g. honey). Well, until today, nothing happens, i can see just a little white stuff, is very minuscule, i can't take a better pictures. I can't understand what happens, the incubation chamber is around 28C/82F. The liquid isn't turbid. Sorry for my English and thanks all.

What brand of honey did you use, it might have had a fungicide. Try again with organic honey?

LC from MS is a crap shoot. Are you agitating it?

It's never a good idea to start a LC from spores. next time inoculate your LC with agar for good results.

a couple of day ago, i try the same, but with cane sugar and palm honey, i did 2 jars with sugar, 2 jars with palm honey and 2 jars with a mix of it. The doses was like before, 100cc H2O and 3g. nutrient... Well, in one jar, the LC became cloudy and very turbid...ok, could be happy, something happens...but the other jars...stillness...

spore syringes are made from spore prints. spore prints are not completely clean. a LC is a sterile medium with nutrition (sugar) any few contaminants that get in WILL grow and infect a LC. where as if you would use the spores on agar or a PF cake for instance the contamination might not grow in the first place or you can easily discard the bad cake or make a transfer on the agar plate to save healthy mycelium.

Something which doesn't seem to ever get publicized is that not every lc jar will take off. It's pretty standard to have some do nothing so you need several jars. I'm talking spores -> lc here.

it will if you give it a viable culture. I've never had an LC fail that was given an agar wedge. that's like putting a wedge on agar and having it not grow. sometimes spores don't grow on agar or in a LC either but if you do it the right way and make your LC with agar you won't ever have a problem unless your agar or transfer wasn't clean
