Tyvek under cakes in SGFC
    #21359097 - 03/04/15 12:34 AM (9 years, 10 months ago)

Quick question, couldn't come up with an answer in the search bar.

Can I substitute aluminum foil for tyvek squares underneath the cakes in my SGFC?
Or will the moisture rise through the tyvek and rot the cakes just as bad as setting them on perlite?

Sure...or jar lids, or anything that can be used as a coaster....

I went with wax paper, it looks pretty spiffy!

Thanks.

Tyvek would work fine, and the cake wouldn't become waterlogged from it. Cakes don't rot from sitting directly on perlite, but a water logged cake won't produce well.
