Pretty big dog but there have been advances in sound reduction for kennels. I wont say sound proof because if there is air flowing there is sound. I am not recommending any one but i did do some research when looking at looking apartments. Seems like they might help.

Just tell the dog its a good dog when it barks so it feels happy and stops barking. Telling them to shut up, shock collars and other punishments don't work because they won't be able to understand what they are being punished/scolded for.

Damn, what a utterly terrible suggestion, don't you feel at all bad for giving such completely horrible advice?

Shock collars work. Shut my neighbor's dog up in no time flat.

Know someone that used this:
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=728
There are multiple versions that use citronella. Dogs hate when it is sprayed in their face. It is bark activated. They are generally set up to beep after one bark to warn the dog that if they bark again they will get the citronella. Seems more gentle than the shock collar and is reported to work well.

I seem to remember you flaming me for putting my dog down that was ill yet here you are telling someone to put the dog down because it is barking.....WTF

desant said: She fucking loves to bark, especially when theres a cat runs by outside or neighbours dogs bark or when i leave the flat...
anyway i just got a complain from the council ... they told me to deal with it... apparently resident upstairs companied...
i came to talk to her this morning .... said i will deal with it
i had a electronic collar somewhere but it didnt work well ... dogs fur was too thick metal contacts didnt reach the skin... im thinking of ordering a more expensive collar ... otherwise dont know what to do, lock the dog in my car when i leave? It will drive them mad even more - animal cruelty or some shit.
Gotta make her stop barking
put the bitch to sleep

Big dogs benefit from plenty of exercise, make sure to run him/her.
Is your dog kennel trained? is the house bright or dark during the day? Shaded the windows and such, make the kennel dark.
My dog loves low frequency music, like old school drum and bass. Leave some low volume, chill music on when no one's home with the dog to drown out outside noises.
Move away from bitchy neighbors, just some suggestions..

someone that drowned its dog because he didn't want to spend 20 dollars has no right to give advice on another dog

What the fuck did I just read? This thread is insane!
So, the only options to deal with a dog barking is shocking it or cutting out it's fucking vocal chords? How about you just train your fucking dog?

Yes It was my mothers dog and she didn't want me to spend money on it to fix it and said she would have it put down.
My friend offered to snap its neck or put in bag/pillowcase and hit with shovel but I wanted to put the dog down my self the most humane way I could think of and drowned it in the sink.
I mentioned this in another thread quite some time ago and it initiated a flame war and I was the target........
People eat dogs and puppys, china has a dog festival for fucks sake.
I would eat dog anyday animal is animal.

I meant animal is animal as in eating its ok.
Yeah I drowned it because it was the best thing to do to end its suffering Anyone who would rather wait and pay a vet to put THERE dog or family dog down is a pussy.
If you are going to get an animal put down do it your self. I am in Australia and not everyone has a gun like America so shooting was out of the question but I would have preferred to do that.
No regrets ever because I done the right thing.

That's one the most inhumane ways to dispatch an animal. I couldn't count the amount of animals I've killed (hunting, dispatching pests, and putting pets down) but I've never drowned one
