ok, i have just transfered tissue from wild fruitbodies of Ganoderma lucidum and Laetiporus sulphureus two 2 and 3 plates of peroxidated PDA respectively. i have also trnasfered wedges of a Lentinus edodes culture i got from zeronio some time back to 3 plates of the same.
here:

i plan log culture for each, to be inoculated via colonized dowel pins.
i will keep this updated as i have news.
wish me luck.

Laetiporus is easy to clone while Ganoderma lucidum takes quite a long time to recover IME. Good luck!

ow the horror! and other such...
as it turns out, both reishi and all three chicken of the woods plates showed signs of contamination nby mold overnight. i think it possible that i never added the peroxide to the mix for those. sad, sad, but it gives me reason to get out today and find more fresh specimens of the L. sulphureus

Yeah, me too. I have found that the reishi leaps of quickly, at least my strains.

i will just as soon as i get some more tissue to clone. i think they are done in this area, as it has dropped below freezing at night, but they may be around yet, i'm not familiar with thier limitations, and i know some species can readily survive freezes.
if anybody had any info on the subject, i'd verry much appreciate input.
i still plan to cultivate these allong with reishi and the shiitake i have already.

just a minor update: all three shiitake plates are comming allong nicely. a bit slow, but they look clean so far and have climbed down the rather thick wedges to the agar.

Good luck with the shiitake, the chicken of the woods are still about over here, so I can go pick some tomorrow and clone them for you if you like ?
