Is something wrong with my SGFC setup?

I posted a few days ago because I was afraid my casing was contaminated. It turned out to be an off color piece of oyster shell. Now I have a different concern. All activity in my SGFC has come to a halt. It's only been a little over a week since I birthed my cakes. Since I had 10 of them I decided to try a 50/50 style casing with 5 of them and place the casing and the remaining cakes in the same SGFC.
Everything was fine at first, then everything stopped. I've had two cakes produce one mushroom each. Both were extremely small. They weren't aborts because the veil actually broke. The cake in the middle is producing a second mushroom, but it looks like it's going to fare the same as the other two. Also, that cake is showing some serious bruising on top.
i dunked the cakes for 24 hours. I mist and fan at least 3 times a day. I have a digital hygrometer which shows 99% RH in the FC. The temps very between 69F - 73F. I did have a forced air space heater running to keep the temps up, so maybe the disruption in the air flow was to blame. I have since turned it off.
The reason I think something is wrong is because the colonization progressed very quickly. I can't tell if my cakes and casing are too dry - which is what I suspect - or too wet. Would plugging up some holes help? Or should I just wait it out?
Thanks.

if you move the cakes lower to the perlite the sub-climate would be much better.

Yeah what silverstem said. I haven't seen many setups where the cakes are elevated above the perlite. Try movin' 'em down but as you said, it's only been a week. Patience... make the adjustment and relax. It's gonna be groovy. My first cakes didn't really take off until the 15 day mark so...give it time.

What i have found out is that SGFC do not work when the humidity in your home is less than 40%.

And that's exactly why you ask questions here. Moving the cakes down onto the perlite was something I hadn't even thought about. Thanks! I'll give it a try.

Yeah I made this mistake. As soon as I eased off the misting, things started to happen.
