Im sure you consider kobe a sulerstar.. im sure you've seen him go 1/13 or 7/30 or something ridiculous. Does that mean he isnt a superstar? Absolutely not..
Who would you take if you could pick either player. Purely hypothetical no concern with paying them. Westbrook, or Harden?

kr0nik0 said: I don't expect a superstar to be on fire for all 82 games. Take a real superstar like LBJ though, and he has consistently put up great stats in around 75% of the games he played. You rarely see him have a game where he doesn't contribute.
Besides LBJ, who do you consider the best player in the association right now?
For real LBJ damn near gets a triple double every time he steps on the court.
Its hard to say after this year but its gotta be KD, then Westbrook.

Same with me. I love Westbrook’s game.
About a week ago against the suns he went like 3-18 in the 1st half and then shot like 80% in the second half scored 40 points and got a Tripple Double. Im not a stat guy, but I highly doubt Harden has ever got a triple double. Also Harden doesn’t seem resilient like Westbrook is.
Harden is one of the best one on one guys in the league (i think KD is better but you could argue it), but he’s not complete and thats why i think he shouldn’t win an MVP.
If Russ keeps his play up and OKC finishes dominate, i see no reason he shouldn’t win the MVP. I saw LBJ completely nullify Step that night they played the Cavs. That doesn’t happen against what I believe should be an MVP.
Really I think it should either be LBJ (the definition of Most Valuable Player) or Westbrook (a guy who refuses to let his team suck and plays his heart out on both ends of the court night in night out)
Its been a fun year though, and its sweet to see Harden and Steph really have breakout years, plus the Hawks have been doing some crazy shit. They just look like they have fun every time they play.
Off of the topic of MVP. Did any of you guys watch the Lakers/Thunder game last night? God the thunder would suck without KD and Russ.

More Josh Smith hate lol

Josh Smith came to Philips Arena last night with the Rockets and tried to hush heckling fans before the Hawks rallied for a victory. Afterward Smith lashed out at Atlanta fans, calling the fans “fickle” and bandwagoners” according to ESPN.com.
Scoreboard bitch.
Haha. The fans yelling at him to shoot every time he got the ball. Then he thinks he's hushing the fans when he hits a 3. Everyone in Atlanta loved seeing that 3 sink because they knew once you get him shooting he done lost. Goddamn it's good to see that worthless fuck out of Atlanta.

Ha. I didn't catch the game(s) last night.
That's funny the ATL fans wanted to see a 3 go down. Has his shooting % been above 50 in any game the last couple years? If you take away his shots made within 10 feet of the basket, he'd probably be averaging 20% shooting this year.

I don't know his stats but I fucking LIVED them. He can call ATL bandwagoners but any fan that sat through his lazy bullshit fuck that took some real die hard dedication. I have my posts to prove I supported the Hawks through everything but yeah this team is much more fun to watch than Josh Smith and Joe Johnson. I'm not saying this is a title team but this is a look for the right shot hard in the paint work ethic basketball team so yeah they're more fun to watch by far.

I feel you. I'm still baffled by how ATL has been playing this season. There's no clear star that stands above the rest of the team, which in most cases is bad, but for ATL it seems like it just makes the whole team have fun playing.
None of the players are greedy with the ball, and they're confident. I give all the credit in the world to the Hawk's coach for somehow making a mediocre talented team play like at top 5 team in the NBA.

We've already secured a playoff spot. Ball don't lie. RIGHT NOW WE'RE PLAYING LIKE THE BEST TEAM IN THE NBA.
I think most likely this team needs a season or two of deep playoff experience before opening that door. Eastern Finals this year, stay injury free and together, maybe make The Finals. Maybe pull a Mavs or Spurs type of championship years. It's always a long shot. It's always unlikely. But this team has a real shot to bring home a ring. They probably won't but there's enough there to give me hope. God help me.

I think there's a lot more than just hope for you this season to make the finals.
The Cavs being the only other team in the East that could cause you problems look great some nights, then play like absolute shit other nights.
Idk about winning the ring this year, but I'd give the Hawks a better chance of making the finals right now than any other team in the NBA. Not taking anything away from the Hawks, but it has a lot to do with the competition in the East; Or lack thereof competition.

I'd bend over for ya, but it seems the whole Miami Heat organization has done so already this season.

Interesting that there are still 4 candidates getting a lot of hype for MVP.
Anybody know if/when teammates have won consecutively? I don't think Westbrook will win it though, unless OKC goes on a run.

I have no idea when the last time teammates won MVP consecutively. That's an interesting question.
I don't think it's ever happened in the 20 years or so I've been following the NBA.
I'm with you on Westbrook not taking it this year. He's a pretty amazing player, but the other 3 candidates fit the role of MVP a lot better than he does.
A lot of fans tend to think the MVP award should go to the player with the best stats in the league, but that's not the case. The MVP award is given to the player that most contributed to helping their team win games over the course of the season. Of course it doesn't hurt to average 20+ points a game...I think that's a pretty big factor in voting as well.

I dont see this. Harden is a Kobe type player that isn’t as good as Kobe, Steph vanishes in big games.
Its Lebron or Westbrook IMO.

Yea man...honestly I think it's gonna be LBJ.
Westbrook has contributed a bit more to his team since KD was out so many games, but it's hard to argue with LeBron's stat sheet.
Steph Curry I think has just as good of a chance of winning as LBJ though. As far as a player that has individually helped his team most this season, it's for sure him. Without Curry that team wouldn't even be thinking about the playoffs.
Harden is the only one I consider out of the running already.

It should be.
I dont think Golden State has a shot in hell of winning the championship. Im pretty biased against them because i hate everything Oakland, but Steph got shut the fuck down against the Cavs, and I’m not hoping on Klay Thompson’s nuts yet either.
LBJ is the best player in basketball. Westbrook hasn’t had enough of a year(like Durant did) to usurp him.

The Cavs tore some shit up on that recent road trip out west.
http://m.espn.go.com/nba/story?storyId=12426015&src=desktop
These guys seem to be down with Russ and Steph.
Davis gets some love, too.
If you're really honest I think it's hard to not say LBJ but the NBA is always out to generate new buzz.
I think it's getting pretty obvious that Jeff Teague is underrated but that's fine with me.

Definitely under rated. He's been playing amazing this year and I barely ever hear bout him.

I dont really get all the Davis love he plays for a shit team, and his numbers really aren’t that great. He’s a great player, but not even close to an MVP candidate.
