Yep, they'll do that. The response to light is called "phototropism."

I've shaken almost every jar I've done so far and haven't noticed any difference in production between shaken vs. unshaken. I can't imagine the jars fully colonizing without giving them a shake, but maybe I just have slow genetics . I've even gone as many as 2 and rarely 3 shakes with no observable issues.
I also want to add that printing these guys is a major pain in the ass. The caps are so small and have been maturing at varying times which means a lot of extra work. Prints so far have been pretty faint, yet visible. I experimented with a bunch of caps today, all with varying maturity to see what difference it makes. I'm also going to leave these ones sitting longer to see if it darkens the print.

Hmm, maybe just poor genetics then? My jars didn't form sclerotia and the mycelium looks weak. Prepped the rye berries just like I always do.
I'll try G2G and also put some on agar to see if I can get some better growth.
Will be curious to see how your prints come out. Def want to make some of those too. I also have some Mexicana strain A spores. Guess I'll try those out and see if I have better results.
Just want these P. Galindoi to work!

The caps print best when they are flat or even beginning to curl up a bit.

Nice pic!
How long do you typically leave them? I left one cap that looked similar to the one in your picture for 24 hours and got an OK but not great print from it.
I have another one printing now that looks about the same that I'm going to leave for 1.5-2 days, just to see if it makes a difference.

small caps wants to be printed in humid environments so they dont dry up too fast before they eject their spores. IDK if this goes so much for sclerotia producers but it matters a lot with pans IME, and these caps do look small/thin.

I know it was cubes, but someone said they would do one mist over their caps printing before they put the lid on them to sit. Another person would put a drop of water in the center of each cap while its printing. I don't know how much this would help.

Definitely some good advice to consider. I purposely have them printing in a small container to try and keep the humidity higher, but I like the mist/drop idea.
Once I get some more flat caps I might give that a go.

The mist will help more than the drop of water, but both are beneficial. Basidiomycetes rely on a large amount of ambient moisture to condense on the basidia in what are called Buller's drops. These drops get big enough that they touch the spore, and when they do the water rushes forward along the sides of the spore until it reaches the front and stops. That sudden stop launches the spore almost exactly halfway to the next closest gill. It's pretty wicked.

I was mistaken. I am seeing stones developing now. The formation is just slower than what I've typically read.
