It doesn't really matter with muda's because it's all going to be sterilized in a PC and kept in sterile conditions until 100% colonized.

Correct.  Other than that, when talking pasteurization, I would chose coir by it's self as the bulk material that's the most contam resistant due to the process it goes through to be extracted from the coconut husk, and the lack of nutrients coir has.

Or would just coir and verm work maybe with some brf and gypsum, via MudaFucka's bottle tek just with the different ingreadiants?:dawerp:

Muda's bottle tek will work with any of the aforementioned substrate materials because of sterilization.  If we were talking pasteurization, brf would have to be removed due to being too nutritious to be pasteurized safely.

with muda's you are basically putting all the ingredients together that you would normally use for spawn and substrate and just sterilizing it all together. He then inoculates it with LI. The LI is primarily just adding the myc. It's really just a cake that's being nocced up with mycelium.

Instead of using just BRF and vermiculite for PF tek, you can use other stuff. Instead of using spores, you are using already live myc. If not using BRF, you need to replace it with something else nutritious like grain or another grain flour. If not using verm, you need to replace it with some other substrate material to make it fluffy and retain water.

The fact that it's all being sterilized and kept that way means you have more options with additives that are contam prone when only pasteurized.

Thanks Guys, I have 4 Lc's going right now. I have a brick of coir, bag-o-verm and I guess I need oats???
I was thinking of using some of these as spawn, but they are Pf cakes.
Lots of "birth cakes as cakes" goin on.
This is my biggest fruit from cakes so far, and my best fruits.
Give bulk a shot with pf cakes as spawn?

Straight vermiculite is probably the most contaminant resistant.

It wouldn't surprise me if untreated coir is even more contaminant resistant that pasteurized or sterilized coir.

I tried casing some bottles with untreated coir and they got verticillium.

Yeah I guess that wouldn't surprise me. Verticillium doesn't need to grow in a substrate to cause problems, the spores just need to be there. More specifically they need to be where the pins are forming so if you used a casing layer the spores in the bulk substrate would have no effect on the mushrooms they'd have to be in the casing material.

Yep exactly. I found a houseplant with a white mold growing on the surface that could have been vert, and at one time it was sitting directly above my greenhouse. Spores could have gotten in when I cased the bottle. Not sure if it was the white mold on the plant or if spores were in the coir, but 3 of the bottles never even fruited. One pinned and aborted. I got an okay yield off one of the bottles but the mushrooms were deformed.
