identifying pan cyan and pan antillarum ...please help
    #21347574 - 03/01/15 10:20 AM (9 years, 2 months ago)

I found these in central/west Florida last night...here are pics. I just can't tell the difference. They looked to bruise but not to distinctively. I ate a handful knowing they are edible and felt a a little Buzz. They seemed more red in color of bruising when I looked in morning. This makes me believe there antillarum. I've picked many cubes in my day but these were only thing out that night growing straight out of cow dung. Any thoughts? Also some of the older ones I ate looked black/ dark blue before I picked them...not as much on these ones..not sure how to get pics in thread, kinda new to posting...I uploaded the pics and shared them so if there is a way to look at them that way until I get further instructions...thanks

Are you talking about the only 2 pics in your gallery?
If so the pics are a bit blurry and they look pretty beat up but I can def make out you got Pan.papilionaceus in the 2nd pic.

Try to take better pictures of specimens that are still intact.

While Antillarum is in topic, do they leave broken veil fragments or are they free?

SWFL hunter here, hope this helps.
Note the stem colors!

If you really study each one up close in person, I promise you'll be able to tell from 20 feet away what's active and what's inactive. Copelandia sp. just have this magical look about them. :mushroom2:

Edit: I didn't mention which were inactive at first, sorry.

Inactive:
Panaeolus papilionaceus - reddish brown stems, usually with white veil remnants on the edge of the cap.

Inactive:
Panaeolus antillarum - White / opaque / thick stems, usually with pure white caps.

ACTIVE (Containing psilocybin and psilocin):
Copelandia cyanescens - White / Pearlescent / thinner stems, caps are usually more golden in the center.
