Would like clarification

So I've always been under the impression that things run through a PC cycle (not a sterilizer) will remain sterile until the PC seal is broken/opened. Then I run across this quote from RR about bags.
"It also helps when using spawn bags in a non-sterile home environment to place a length of cloth or tyvek inside the bag that reaches from the top of the substrate to the top of the bag. By folding the bag with the tyvek along the folds, it allows for a path for steam to escape, while filtering the incoming air as the PC cools and air/contaminants are drawn in from outside. These contaminants entering the non-sealed bags are a major cause of contamination, and they occur before the bags have even been removed from the PC."
So do things in the PC stay sterile or do they suck in contams while cooling?

They suck in contams upon returning to atmospheric pressure, correct. One of the major roles our media vessel filtration systems and devices play is to filter the air being drawn into the freshly sterilized mediums while returning to atmospheric pressure.

jars stay sterile since they have a GE lid on them. bags if not sealed are tricky. there's no filter on your PC, if you have a sterilizer they actually can pull a vacuum when cooling down but if you break that vacuum or let a PC cool down naturally, normal everyday air gets into the PC

So bags made with no tyvek sleeves are doomed to fail?

you could put the whole PC in front of a running flow hood after the cycle.

Guess my next question will be for a readily available suitable tyvek source until I can order more sleeves.

The overalls yes? Maybe this is the issue I've been dealing with although back when I think I was having the same issue when I was using sleeves. Don't really remember.

I'm not a fan of it for use as filtration material with spawn bags. Wrist sleeves are preferred.

Also I usually get supplies from outgrow but mikes sleeves are "recycled tyvek material" and I've had them melt to the inside of my bags before and Lana has polypropylene sleeves, not sure if those are suitable.
Anyone reccommend a sponsor for decent sleeves?

Me either but the one time they did really put me off as you can imagine. The sleeves that melted had kinda a sheen on them before I pcd them. It was like it almost had a plastic coating. I told mike about it and asked if it was a fluke or if he changed suppliers but he never got back to me. Been too sketched out to order any since then.

I will give it a go tomorrow when I PC my test bags. Do one without a sleeve, one with a sleeve and no innocum, and one with a sleeve with a mock innocum.
Maybe my contam issue is as simple as bags sucking shit in as they cool in the PC.
