So I opened the jars and they smelled like fresh mushies. I stuck a Coir/verm/gypsum casing on top of them (About .5" - 1" depth) and am going to stick them in a FC.

(don't worry about the tape/paper/side pin idea it'll probably side pin if it makes it past a first flush and the cake pulls away from the inside off the jar.)

It won't side pin. There is not enough water in grains for the sub to contract that much.

Oh okay, cool.  I just started some muda bottles.

I just figured you don't need to duct tape paper to your jar to prevent side pins.

No your right tape won't do jack. But straight grains won't side pin much. Muda bottles do cause there is lots of water holding bulk substrate that the myc can squeeze and the water gets pulled into the fruits.
