The FSRC is already in place and running. If edible donations come in they will be added to the available strains list. In fact, I would welcome the additions.

I will be able to donate at least one (hopefully a least four) spore print for the Fungi Perfecti's strain of Almond Portabello (sold in their mushroom grow kits which is just bulk substrate in the bag with an included casing layer and instructions) Agaricus Brasiliensis within a month. Which is the CLOSEST address to San Antonio (to ensure the shortest trip) that i can mail them to? (i'm assuming their all in canada so it won't really much matter) I went to the home page and i see you need some Mazatapec... Now i only GROW legal edible and medicinal strains, but i may be capable of procuring some prints soon.... many.

The Almond Portabellos would be nice The prints are quite large and would be best sent quartered. That would give more people the chance to try them.
It looks like we will have some edibles on the strains list soon, when these new donations come in.
Thanks to everyone for making it happen

Bad news, although probably not THAT bad. Due to circumstances outside my control (change in schedule in my job from night shift to day shift in conjuction with family members who don't know how to keep a GOD DAMNED LIGHT ON) I've been forced to completely reverse... in ONE DAY, the light schedule for my almond portabello (Agaricus Brasiliensis) mushrooms. needless to say all the pins (there were five healthy pins) aborted and the casing colonization began anew.
I do NOT know how long it will take, but i WILL send you some of those spore prints provided i don't get contams within the next two months. I'm going to do it right after the partial veil starts to break but before it's off to reduce contamination risk, so the prints may not be as big as you guys are expecting, these mushrooms i believe also tend to be smaller than Agaricus Bisporus or A. Brunnescense when mature anyway.. but they can GET big from what i understand, and are relatively big to begin with.
I have a glove box i'm going to use in conjunction with an oven method i've already mastered (i have yet to take prints in the glove box) to ensure sterility as much as any home cultivator can ( i want these mushrooms to be GROWN A LOT) I used to have to take the prints in a semi sterile chamber i made from this thing we use to hold cakes... it's tupperware, and i had no contamination from it (Agaricus Bisporus from the supermarket) I'm going to do the same thing with it but i'll be able to put the whole thing in a sterile glove box, and the tupperware won't be ONLY semi-sterile
maybe if you sent an agar plate just inoculated that's been sealed... or at least young, maybe not JUST inoculated, in a box

Scratch what i said about having to wait, today four new pinheads popped up, way faster than the last ones, they should be ready within the next week, i will take spore prints of every one of them, depending on how big they are i will take quartered prints (does that Four donations = paid shipping thing apply with quartered prints?, it doesn't really matter that much but i'd still like to be clear about it)
So yeah... it's all good, expect some prints from a David Hayden sometime relatively soon.

I take care of my donators. If they are very large prints you can quarter them, the main thing is more people could try them.
