Coprinellus, Psilocybin or even Galerina???
    #21339744 - 02/27/15 06:45 PM (9 years, 2 months ago)

Habitat: Temperate climate of Washington, USA. Found growing at the base of a rotting/mulched fallen log in a deciduous and coniferous forest.

Gills: Initially creamy/white, close to color of stipe (white). Auto digested into a blackish color over night after picking. Adnate or very slightly decurrent gill attachment.

Stem:
Purely white, no annulus, grouped/clustered at bottom for a few. About 2 to 3 inches tall (5-8 cm ~), ~ 1 cm in width, hollow thin stalk with fibrous texture when broken.

Cap:
Smooth dry texture, light buff brown/mocha colored in initial appearance with caps darkening over night. Bell shaped with a deep rounded tip and edges that down flare out like tradition bell. Small vertical grooves.

Spore print color:
Blackish charcoal color with a hint of grey.

Bruising:
Not much bruising but the shrooms have gotten darker since collected them (didn't clean dirt off well).

Other information:
*MUCH LIGHTER CAP/GILL/STIPE when initially found in wild then currently in photo* Found yesterday (spring) didn't clean dirty and debris after gills originally whiteish/cream/tan color.

I appreciate your prompt response! A Corpinoid was my best guess, after 24 hours of toil and pondering, so I tend to agree with you (Coprinellus micaceus was the corpinoid I was comparing it to after realizing it was probably not orange enough for a Galerina and and the spore print and and lack of blue bruising as well as subtle cap characteristics deterred me from thinking psilocybin).
