No one is going to beat James T Kirk's Eulogy in wrath of Khan:

[eulogizing Spock] We are assembled here today to pay final respects to our honored dead. And yet it should be noted, in the midst of our sorrow, this death takes place in the shadow of new life, the sunrise of a new world; a world that our beloved comrade gave his life to protect and nourish. He did not feel this sacrifice a vain or empty one, and we will not debate his profound wisdom at these proceedings. Of my friend, I can only say this: Of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most... [voice breaks] human.

I blame jj Abrams. Fucker is going to ruin two franchises.

Damn. What a shame.

I was never much into Star Trek but all the interviews I've seen from Mr. Nemoy have been great.

He genuinely seemed like a nice and humble person.

Here's to having lived long and prospered.

I rather enjoyed the 2 new Star Trek movies.

To be fair, I was never a Star Trek fan. Just thought they were pretty decent films.

Yeah they weren't star trek films they were a shitty jj Abrams special effects eye gasm.

Thin on plot heavy on effects didn't even know the second one was a wrath of Khan rip off till like 2/3 through.  And wrath of Khan is one of my favorite movies.

This makes me so sad. I honestly thought he was going to live longer than a human since he's a vulcan. I'm going to have a TOS marathon tonight in mourning of his death and celebration of his awesome life and thespianship. RIP and farewell Mr. Nimoy.

53 is pretty old lol..

I'll be lucky to live that long.
Their not in "my generation" but I watch old movies a LOT..

And your right.. Everybody is dying off. It's really fucking sad.. The young up and coming actors will never live up to my expectations on my opinion.

Cgi is getting amazing though.. I'm excited for its development

Yeah they were. But I still enjoyed watching them. That was likely because I hadn't watched any other star trek before seeing them.

After long and careful consideration I've decided that JJ Abrams' Trek movies are crap. However, I am still glad they got made because they've gotten a whole new generation into Star Trek and basically raised the franchise from the dead. I have friends who hated Star Trek before but now are into TOS after being drawn in by the new movies' sexy cast and breezy action. I'm hoping that now that Star Trek is a viable franchise again, future installments will move back toward the series' more cerebral roots.

In February 2014, Nimoy revealed that he had been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). On Twitter, he said: "I quit smoking 30 yrs ago. Not soon enough. I have COPD. Grandpa says, quit now!! LLAP (Live Long and Prosper)."[57] On February 19, 2015, Nimoy was rushed to UCLA Medical Center for severe chest pains after a call to 911. According to accounts, he had been in and out of hospitals for the "past several months."[58]

Nimoy died on February 27, 2015 in his Bel Air home from final complications of COPD, according to his wife Susan. He was 83 years old, and is survived by Susan and his two children and six grandchildren from his first marriage.[1]

A few days before his passing, Nimoy shared some of his poetry on social media website Twitter. The final tweet that he sent out read: "A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP".[59]

Shatner said of his friend "I loved him like a brother [...] We will all miss his humor, his talent, and his capacity to love."[60] Zachary Quinto, who portrayed the younger "Spock" character in films Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness, commented on Nimoy's death: "my heart is broken. i love you profoundly my dear friend. and i will miss you everyday. may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."[61] George Takei stated: "The word extraordinary is often overused, but I think it's really appropriate for Leonard. He was an extraordinarily talented man, but he was also a very decent human being. His talent embraced directing as well as acting and photography. He was a very sensitive man. And we feel his passing very much. He had been ill for a long, long time, and we miss him very much."[62]

Fucking FUCKING cigarettes. Thirty years after quitting.

Roam free, beautiful soul.
