it is a very, very good show.  the art is amazing, the story is great, hell, even the dubbed version is incredible.  you are missing out on something wonderful and i'm not even sure we can be friends anymore because of it.

also, Casablanca is arguably the best movie ever made.

Oh my god dude, that plant episode of space dandy put me in a head trip even though I was sober, Watanabe certainly has a way with animation. Cowboy Bebop and Kids on the Slope are both masterpieces though I don't know quite what to think of his Terror in Resonance, it didn't feel that original to me.

Anybody ever seen School Days?

I have will have to look into Kids and Terror, I have not heard of either.

Cowboy bebop is another masterpiece though without a doubt
Such solid plots and music, just an all around amazing show.

Yeah some of those space dandy episodes are so mellow and trippy it's like being caught in a trance.

I will have to look up Casablanca too since I have heard good things about it.

Also, we all know Vocal Dubbing generally turns out bad, sure there are some shows with great dubs but it is a challenge and many show's do it sub par.

The voicing or animation is not the point of the Animation though, to miss out on such great stories just because they are old and the graphics are not pristine enough is very silly.

I may have to re watch Totoro soon, I have been craving Nausica too. Hao Myazaki is amazing :rasta:

Casablanca is amazing, Humphrey Bogart is my favorite actor of all time. I just got finished watching one of his films this morning called Across The Pacific. Shit dude I've seen more than 20 of his films and having looked over my list just now I would def recommend these: Casablanca, Knock On Any Door, Key Largo, The Enforcer, The Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep, and In A Lonely Place. All of his movies are good but those are the absolute cream. The Caine Mutiny is also worthy of being one of those best of the best if only for how potent the ending is.

I think a great many of his movies are based on novels with how complex and detailed the plots are, I figure that meticulous attention to the story came about due in part to the culture at the time of creation as well as the lack of special effects for them to ride on.

Interesting that Myazaki chose to leave us with what The Wind Rises is as his final piece, it's so powerful but...but...well, watch it if you haven't, you'll know.

So I watched that Knights of Sidonia, good shit, I like how creative they got with the futuristic technology they put in, the genetic engineering especially; the second season's supposed to come out in april. Sidonia is rather similar to Neon Genesis Evangelion and Attack on Titan since they're all about humanity trying to survive monster assaults but each certainly has its own unique flavor

Have some music vids of each

Knights of Sidonia

Neon Genesis Evangelion

Attack on Titan

Make sure to watch the movie as well if you watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, it comes right before the last two episodes; I've heard it' great to watch on psychedelics from friends but I wouldn't personally know.

I read some hunter x hunter as a kid and watched the anime, I almost got back into it recently but I don't think they had dubbed the more true to the story version of the anime.

Also I had a friend recommend Evangaleon to me awhile back, started watching it but spaced it.

Definitely seems like a sweet show, I will have to add that to my list as well.

I have not even watched attack on titan but Knights of Sidonia reminded me of it, I actually looked it up to see if they were by the same people

I definitely thought the story was pretty creative but at the same time it rips on many plots pretty blatantly.

Especially enders game, the similarities are crazy.

It's like an Asian Ender's Game anime

watched Heavy Metal just now, it's a great movie, very brutal; I really like the way the show tied so many different stories together.

The attitude of the show forms a good part of what hooked me; a real similar attitude to Fritz the Cat. I love me some dirty, wild American culture in my animation.

More than that though I like how original the endings to the stories are, for instance, that kid saying fuck returning to earth and running off into some awesome new life was refreshing:rockon:.

I hate the respectful and orderly aspect of Japanese culture that saturates so much of its animated works; watching the creations of such revoltingly obedient cunts make me wanna vandalize something
