Europe isn't under threat of "Muslim hordes" either, it just seems that way to you from across the pond.

Exactly how does a few percent of Muslims in Europe amount to "facing utter annihilation from the Muslim hordes" like MPD asserts?

Almost all those muslims are peace loving, and they are divided among many religious orientations within Islam.

America has about as many gays. Would you consider yourself facing utter annihilation from the homosexual hordes? It would take a special kind of person to think that way.

Roundup is a herbicide not a pesticide ...and it is used on every farm that I know of for both soybeans and corn. The good thing about it is simply that it allows no-till type farming... which greatly reduces soil erosion and energy costs which would be used to do the old style till type farming,(plowing then disking, then planting.)With the no-till process, they usually plant at the same time they are spraying with tines that poke the seeds into the untilled ground.

I am relieved to read that the active chemicals have a relatively short half life...but dismayed that it is used soooo much and everywhere. The other thing that I don't like is that it attaches itself to soil in water (muddy water)...ummm...anyone ever look at the Mississippi river? It is sprayed once and maybe twice a year on the farms around me in the northeast...I think. I know they try to pull 2 crops ...usually wheat first then soy or corn and I'm not sure if they use it on the wheat planting. In warmer areas of the country like the southeast and southcentral...they will easily get 2 separate crops because of the longer growing season.

What worries me is that this chemical does wash into streams after heavy rains and if the flow of the streams is faster than the halflife of the chems...they could easily accumulate down stream...hence the study was done in the Mississippi Delta region. Also...that the samples were taken from rain and from air is worrisome...How is it getting there?....has to be through evaporation.

These are some heavy duty chemicals that should not be taken lightly and requires further study on how they affect us and other living organisms when ingested.:sunny::peace:

How do you figure roundup means they don't have to till the soil? That makes no sense and I want to see some evidence to back it up.

You need to do a little more research buddy...no till farming has been the talk of all the farmers I know for years...just watch them some day. Very seldom is the plow used anymore in modern day agriculture.

So... nothing to back it up with? And nothing to do with roundup. You said roundup "allows no-till type farming" and you have failed to substantiate that.

You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.

It has been declared this attribution is "unsubstantiated and almost certainly bogus, even though it has been repeated thousands of times in various Internet postings. There is no record of the commander in chief of Japan’s wartime fleet ever saying it.", according to Brooks Jackson in "Misquoting Yamamoto" at Factcheck.org (11 May 2009), which cites Donald M. Goldstein, sometimes called "the dean of Pearl Harbor historians", writing "I have never seen it in writing. It has been attributed to the Prange files [the files of the late Gordon W. Prange, chief historian on the staff of Gen. Douglas MacArthur]".

But yeah who needs facts? He's high on Fox.

Whether Yamamoto said it or not is irrelevant to its accuracy.  All they can do is sneak around and cause mayhem.  The US is under no existential threat from Islamic lunatics.  Europe is but we aren't.  We aren't under any threat from Roundup, either.  It's efficacy allows us to use less pesticides in general.

InfoWars, LOL.

Pesticides and herbicides are both toxic chemicals for killing living things.

I don't see much of a difference, besides what they target.

Keep arguing mute points though.

And well said Baltimark:thumbup:

I'm still waiting for baltimark to substantiate his claim that roundup makes no till farming possible. He seems to have "forgotten" to reply.

> Pesticides and herbicides are both toxic chemicals for killing living things.

Herbicides are harmful to humans as well as pesticides.

A bit of semantics: Herbicides ARE Pesticides. Pesticides are substances that kill or deter organisms that considered harmful. Organisms, not just bugs, so fungicides and algicides are pesticides too.

It had nothing to do with pointing out a spelling error.  I was trying to educate you before you embarrassed yourself in the real world.  Why would I want to refruit my own point?
