Honestly, I'm not to keen on more govt. regulation, especially regarding the internet.

That means my internet service won't slow down so that giant corporations get the fast lane.  I'm ok with that.

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

Has less to do with your speeds and more to do with taking money from high bandwidth users (such as Netflix).  As long as the government prevents the quasi-monopolistic carriers from price fixing, I'm ok, but generally, once the government gets their hands on regulating something, whoever has the most money profits from the regulation.  With net neutrality, I don't believe there is a winner regardless of what direction it goes... whoever has the most money (handful of large carriers) will end up winning and the consumer will end up losing.  Time will tell...

Of course, only retards will tell you the govt is not corrupt and for sale to the highest bidder. This is the camel's nose under the tent, a feel good story to cover a sinister intent. Obumble of course is happy with it as he is with most forms of corruption.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.” (attributed to Alexis de Tocqueville political philosopher Circa 1835)

Yeeeeeeeeee-Hawwwwwwww!!!!!

Now we got Obamanet!  Government taking over and regulating something that worked just fine.  Yea, I'm sure that is the answer.  I just don't seem to remember hearing any question.

The Internet is the last bastion of the free press. It's all about geting a handle on that before the economy turns down again.

I don't need to rebut ignorant shit like that. 95% of the time I spend on this forum is educating most of you people about the facts, and I'm trying to maximize efficiency and reduce blood pressure.

Just read about the issue for at least two minutes and you'll understand why your comment deserves to be thrown in a gas chamber.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it. ~ Adrian Rogers

Please Honorable Sensei.  Educate us on what was wrong with the internet and why the government needs to regulate it.

Google the term "net neutrality" and familiarize yourself with the concept first.

Once you get over the notion that the Obamanet is coming to erase free expression, we can have an adult conversation about it.
