my friend gave me this san pedro, he has alot of them near he's house but all of them looks regluar except this one that grew on them.
so this is maybe a kind of melted wax pachanoi or just a pachanoi mutant??:wink:

I can see the patch of yellow varigation, you are talking about, and yeah the morphology is a bit odd. I have some Pedros that have more spines and glochids. I did see from the photo that the cutting appears to have been scarred a few places and may be stressed, which can have an effect on morphology. All cacti are "pretty", to me. Good luck with your cutting/s

It may have just dropped some ribs, and the lighter patches can come about from extremes of cold or light. It might just be taking a while to settle down, cuttings can often drop ribs and grow thinner as they start to get established, or perhaps you have something funky coming!

in the original plant there are many young ones that younger than mine and they are all looks normal and healthy and my cacti is more fat than the others in his size and have this weird ribs. anyway it is very cool one :tongue2:

Despite it may seem odd,I'm kinda sure that's a normal one. It just lost a rib, it may eventually gain that again, but to me low rib count are the best looking ones
