Ps mexicana on rye berries fail/seeking guidance

Greetings all! First. A sincere thank you to all in this community! I appreciate the knowledge and kind people I always find here.
I need help troubleshooting as I attempt a second go around with Ps Mexi/ChiNindo.
I researched the message boards to become familiar with the concepts and decided to go by the "truffle tek" by Violet. It seemed straightforward enough so off I went. I followed the instructions best I could and lo and behold...nothing. My knocked up quart jars haven't done a thing. It's been over 2 weeks and no signs of any growth (or contamination).
I'd like to put a few ideas out there and get your opinions on where I've gone wrong.
1. Spore syringe was in transit for at least four days. I live in New England and it's been frigid. I've read that freezing shouldn't affect the spores unless the syringe ruptures and sterility is compromised. Any opinions on temperature being a factor?
2. I used one quart wide mouth jars with modified lids. I drilled holes for an injection port (self sealing generic) and a 13mm syringe filter. It is a 0.22um pore size synthetic material. Is this syringe filter an issue in terms of gas exchange/drying out grain?
3. I used half strength coffee and gypsum in the soak solution. It was instant coffee. I added 12 tbsp of gypsum to the soak solution. Total volume of about 6 liters. I've read too much coffee can slow germination. Could it prevent it? Same with gypsum.
4. When I strained the soaking rye berries, I poured the bucket out into a colander. There was some undissolved material in the bottom that got dumped in as well. Should I have decanted the berries and left any debris in the bucket?
Btw, this time I'm going with RR's tek. I'm interested in what your opinions are and any advice you could give me as a novice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Freezing can be a factor but I have ordered spores in the winter with no issues. At worst you will not have as many spores germinate but some (100000s) should survive.
Syringe filters are no good for grain spawn. But that won't become a factor until you have a culture growing.
The coffee and gypsum won't really be a factor in those amounts.
I don't even rinse my grains the debris won't hurt.
Might be a non viable syringe for reasons beyond your control. I will say that I have had difficulty myself germinating sclerotia producer spores on grain. I find it best to go to agar and find some strong genetics first. Try a different media. Be sure as well that its not some other noob move like inoculating hot jars or something. Also 2 weeks is usually your outside time frame but I have seen longer. Fix the lids, do some agar, and you should see success.

I just inoculated some oats with mexicana. Three weeks later, nothing. But I didn't see any bacteria and I'm a lazy fuck and I had plenty of spare grain jars lying around, so I put off dumping it for another day. About a month in I looked at my jars and saw that they had growth in all of them, so don't give up hope yet.

Thank you sir. I'm checking out your no pour agar tek. Nice work. Do you think LC is a good option in this case?

LC is a great option for stone producers but I recommend you get good at agar first. Then you can make clean LC with aggressive cultures and really make it work for you. Tiger drop with my no pour tek colonized stone producers very fast. There is a link for it at the end of my writeup.

Wow! That's a sweet surprise! I know patience is a real virtue so I'll let mine ride while I work on agar.

I currently have some mexicana jalisco in rye jars that have been colonizing for a week or so.
The growth looks very wispy compared to cubes? Is this normal?
Got me worried
