Most awesome Cyan find yet

Today a buddy and I went out on a hunt searching for the last few Cyans. We had planned this a all day event, and I actually got my lazy ass up at the butt crack of dawn just to do so. 7am I look out the window and its fucking snowing!!! The snow was sticking but it was a bit wet. I figured we better make the best of what days are left in the season. We decided to check out a local spot that we had thought looked promising but had never gotten around to checking it out. We should have looked weeks ago!!! Just minutes after arriving I spotted a big cluster of Cyanescens smiling at me As we headed back to the car POW! another patch we had not noticed earlier. I would have to say roughly 50 or so large fruits between the 2 patches.
This was one of the most generous of Cyan hunts we have encountered. And its not the type of place that gets swarmed at 2pm when the local high school lets out. The few hunting locations we know of are known and frequented. But not this one This place as far as I know is unmolested. I doubt anyone frequents the area in seek of fungi. Otherwise someone else would have harvested these beauties with a quickness.
We also made a discovery about one of the most popular Cyan locations in the Tacoma area. As we were walking this place we began to notice millet has been spawned throughout the park. We had never noticed this before. The spawn does not necassarly look fresh but it most likely was from this year. Just weeks earlier we discovered millet spawn at one of Seattle's most well know Cyan hunting grounds. I am very curious as to this spawn. There is no doubt it was intentional. Makes me wonder if this spawn is responsible for the mushrooms all around?? I found it interesting anyway...
Well I was so stoked I had to share this with you all. Unfortunetly, we didnt snap any shots. Though we did of course bring our digicam, it was left in the car. Depending on the weather, I will snap some shots in a few days when I visit the hunting grounds again.
Hope you all enjoyed

i have found patches with noticable grain spawn myself. this causes me to be happy, as i had largely dismissed stamet's claim of how common this practice was.

Wow i think this brings us down to 65% of the fungii still fruiting after the HUGE freeze of 2003. Of course we gotta check with MJs records to make sure we can make this assumption with out making asses of ourselves.

Pleezer lives near Ft Lewis or Tacoma somewhere, however it snowed in Lynnwood yesterday which is around 200th street north of Seattle.
And this only makes three people ion the shroomery who have found a few inthe last two weeks.
We might even get some snow unless the weather lightens up soon.

Looks like I wont be getting to post any pictures. The weather is not making this possible. I hoped to return and take pictures but there is snow on the ground. When it melts I will return though its not likely anything worthwhile will be found. But it never hurts to check.

Aww.. that's too bad. Nice story nonetheless - you've given me a renewed drive to get out in the soggy fields here and start poking around more
