first time grow question, reassurance.

hey all. this is my first attempt at growing and i just wanted to make sure I have a proper mycellium and not a contam. I have looked around the forum and found some pics but i just want to make sure my jars are in fact mycellium and not contaminated. As my other jars are kinda furry and not sure if mycellium is supposed to be furry. Any help would be appreciated. The bottom pics are the ones i think are fine the top ones are questionable

What strain?

Reassurance eh? No, not this time... Sorry to tell you to try again

This color can be deceiving... Especially to first time growers. It CAN be mycelium but likely is some type of mold
Here is a picture of actual mycelium trying to fight this mold you have here.

Another... You can clearly see the difference, and take note how healthy mycelium (Strong round white rhizomes) compared to stressed mycelium (extra thick, forms a border with contam)

This... You have a dark grey and even a pink line. Dark grey is mold, Pink mold is deadly, instant no go... Be careful when you toss this one even. If the first picture wasn't so blurry it would probably look just like this.

Just don't post pictures this blurry. Looks kinda shwag even as blurry as it is though.
This milky type look: Not good... ever... And that grey/black above it? no agian. I see some of that pink as well...

Again, milky and wet.. Probably mycelium at some point but likely destroyed by bacteria.

None of these have a chance and I'm reposting this post as a comparison thread for noobs. Don't feel bad, first grow is rarely what you expect. Its a learning process not a magical drug factory.

Hey Dustyn - in case you haven't seen this link you may want to check it out: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17231313#17231313
Those photos helped me ID contams in my grow. (btw in case you're interested to see my grow log check it out here...I have some high res contam porn lol http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21255961). I know how much it sucks to find contams in your jars on the first attempt but hopefully you have better luck next time bro!

yeah. I looked at those when i was trying to figure out if i have a contam. But those pics dont really look like mine cept for the obvious ones. the pics i took did kinda suck was trying with new iphone i will try and get some better pics. I think one jar worked and all others contam. Can I not transfer some from the good jar to new jars to inoculate? I have about 3 cc's left of the amazon strain hopefully they will work. dermott those are really nice pics. wish mine came out like that.

Holding the iPhone in both hands and rest your hands on the table before focusing and taking the shot. Make sure you have lots of light.

I doubt you want to open a jar that is contaminated because it can spread everywhere and possibly pose a health hazard.
I have a few cc's left over in my syringes as well - I was thinking of innocing some half pint brf cakes but am now leaning towards saving the leftovers and learning agar. Give a man a fish vs teach a man how to fish...that's how I see agar. In any case...good luck with those remaining cc's!

Opening that will be just fine. But don't leave it in your garbage to spore up your place. Take it out.

Sorry I misread your post - if the jar you intend to transfer from is fine then you should be able to use the fully colonized cake, break it apart and spawn to bulk - I have no idea how this works in practice but search is your friend here.
