First big(ish) run

I acquired an all american 930 pressure cooker and everything needed to make a dozen monotubs. I started off by pouring some agar plates and innoculating with ksss, amazonian, b+ and burma spores.
I then took a decent sized wedge of each and used that to inoculate two master quart jars of rye seed of each strain. Each took about a week and a half or two weeks too finish, they were a bit too dry and i think i used too much rye because they ended up being almost full.
I then used each master grain jar too a dozen quart jars of rye with less seed in them about 700 ml. With the spawn used as inoculate, the jar ended up being about full. The moisture was better with these jars. We now have 60 full jars with a cup of spawn that im hoping should take about a week to ten days to finish up.
The plan after that is too use 5 jars a brick of coir and a quart of vermiculite into a monotub and harvest about 2 weeks after that. Probably going to start experimenting with different ammendments to the substrate as well.
If i were too dump my finished grains into tubs and fill them up and start pressure cookong that or the next day and inoculate with colonized grain from a master, by the time i harvest and dry the mushrooms And dispose of the used substrate, the grain in the jars should be ready to go in the tubs to keep a cycle of harvest every two to three weeks or so?
Does everythinf sound right here? And also what would you expect for yield if you yourself were too do something similar?
From here i take tissue samples of the most desirable specimens i get from this and clone them on agar and use that too inoculate more masters, hoping to find a larger and more uniform yield.

Is three weeks a better number too look at? And would that cycle roughly, like within 5 days of eachother, regardles of weather it takes 2,3,4 or 5 weeks.

I'd say three weeks is a reasonable time to expect fruits with mediocre genetics.

What do you mean by this, you have 60 qt jars or 60 jars with only a cup each?
A good tub IMO would be 5 qt jars rye (a little more than halfway full, 2/3rd even) to brick coir/verm/gypsum

I get fruits in 53 days from spore. Staring from live culture I can get fruits in 40 days from live culture inoculation.

I have 60 quart jars with about 700 ml of rye seed and another cup of spawn out of the master jar on top of that. The plan was to do a dozen tubs with thos jars as soon as they are colonized. They are about full the top, going to use way less rye seed next time.

Oh ok, so you took your master jars amd grain to grain transferd into the 60 jars
Yea you want them a little less full so you can shake them easier. But it sounds like you're doing everything right good luck!!

You can make 30 tubs with 60 quarts of fully colonized grain spawn at a 1:2 spawn to bulk ratio inside of standard average sized monotubs, generating a 1-2 inch substrate, and get more mushrooms per amount of grain spawn.

I've had trouble getting my yield to budge much by tweaking factors like thickness and spawn ratio. Just my experience, though.

MOST of the substrates featured in ALL my posts are 1-2 inches thick. 1-2 inch think substrates are my personal standard averaged substrate depth.

So you think, i should do the same thing i am doing throw a brick of coir a quart of vermiculite and 2 jars of spawn per tub over 30 tubs instead of a dozen tubs with 5 jars each, should increase my yield?

Ill deffinatley look into and experiment with different amounts of spawn, im pretty much experimenting as much as possible while still being able to put it up against something i have as a control.

I agree. As long as you don't have to go way out of your way to try something stupid that probably won't work, I think everyone should try everything. Experimentation is what keeps it all fun.
