room temperature anything you're comfortable being is fine.

generally we try to keep fruiting chambers between 62-90F somewhere in that range should work well

And can you narrow it down to what the best temperature is rather than such a broad number

The best humidity is pretty much as high as you can get it, 99-100%.
You should notice a nice amount of condensation on the walls.

Condensation is irrelevant really. Although RH is a factor in formation of condensation it's also dependent on temperature differences.

For cakes in particular you want a very high RH. Get it to 95% if you can but they need as much fresh as possible too.

Room temperature is 78 degrees. So start there, and keep in mind anything kizzle tells you.

If you feel comfortable and moist, your mushrooms feel comfortable and moist.

varying it should fluctuate between 50 and 90 or so. within a few millimeters of your substrate or cake you have 99% humidity as the moisture evaporates from your substrate or cake. so the humidity in the actual fruiting chamber itself should never be at 99% that would indicate a problem with your setup actually

there is no best temperature. define best. what do you want the mushrooms to look like warmer = more hollow faster growing, colder = more thick dense fruits.

All I know if that room temperature in school was described as 78 degrees. I live in the south so I keep my shit at 68.

Last year I was fruiting tubs in an attic during the summer. It would get realll hot up there, I left a thermometer with memory and it said the temp was getting as hot as 104 during the hottest part of the day (inside tub) and 55 at night.

They loved it! Grew a little hollow but fruited very well. It was a testament to how hardy cubes are.

Of course I only fruited up there, was way too hot for colonization. And the temp fluxuation was better than those temps 24hrs

colonization should never go above 75F ambient temp, the inside of your jars can be a few F warmer than the ambient, at 78F mycelium goes as fast as it will during colonization any much above that and it stalls out. if you colonize jars at 78F chances are they would have went faster at 75F. but as for fruiting you can fruit at really any temperature that's above 60 and below 100. they fruit in southern states when it's well over 90 all the time.
