Did I F*** This Up? Cultivation too late/early?

Was checking the older forums and had some questions answered, but not all. This is a first grow, using a Midwest Grow kits Mega kit (many have their own opinions on the kits...). Things seemed fine as the mushrooms started pinning, but as they got larger there was a shift in the cap color. Thinking it may be an abortion I cultivated everything that was to a certain size/color. Now my cakes also have a slight discoloration even though there is still growth. Not sure if it is from the spores releasing or what. Most stems do not show any discoloration/rotting. Low quality but hopefully the pictures can help. Just wondering if I screwed up by cultivating too late...

If you weren't using a kit you would have learned long long long ago those are just spores. And that to avoid a huge spore mess harvest around the veil tearing, any longer and you loose potentcy. I just told someone else this but it applies to you aswell. Just cause someone duped you into thinking grow kits will make you ignorantly successful that's not the case. You've already been duped outta money and if you want to be successful and not pay rediculous prices learn the cultivation basics first. Grow kits don't teach anything to anyone except how to watch, follow directions, and take shots in the dark. Oh and how to loose self respect cause once you realize how silly these things are your going to want to make another account that has no evidence on it that you ever used one hahaha, I crack myself up. There's tons of info here, real grows are more cost effective and can even cost less, don't be lazy that's what the people making these kits are counting on.

I don't know what you want, for OP to go back in time? The kit is bought. The fruits are here. The cakes are ready for a second flush.
OP, it does look like you harvested a too late to avoid getting spores all over everything, and now your fruits will taste awful. But they're still edible and probably just a little past peak potency. There is still much debate on whether spores dropped on substrate prevents future pinning. I'm firmly of the opinion that it does, but many around here will disagree. Either way, what's done is done. Check the cakes for moisture by picking them up to test the weight. If they're light, they need to be put into a saucer of water for a few hours. If not, just carry on.

Cool. That's about all I needed! Kit or not, things are going as good as they can.
