Hi ,
Yes I have a grow kit , its not ideal but Its easy for me because I am living at home ,
so I am wondering if you have ever grown Shrooms and if you think this looks good or not , I am not sure just kind of worried .
I got my kit on thursday and since then I have had it on the heat mat , I spray it once a day and i fan it out for 5 seconds . Thank you for your help this will give me peace of mind its stressing me out ,
Also grow kit is good because its a stepping stone for DIY growing ,

Hey I'm a new mycologyst too. I've never grown a mushroom yet and only eaten them once actually. But based off what I've read on this site, you should be spraying and fanning more than once a day. Maybe it's slowing things down? I'm interested to know tho.

I also live at home.
I've grown shrooms and that looks pretty healthy to me.

I did it last year for the first time when I was backpacking , I did it first in Cambodia and then Laos , I did it for 9 days straight , It really changed my life .
I always smoked weed but mushrooms scared me because people put a really scary image on it . then I realised when I doing shrooms I realise a lot about myself and what I can do better ,
since then I doing my favourite sport ( mma ) 6 times a week and I am also in college , Everyone needs to experience this once .
Yeah i will spray it more and fan more . just kind of worried the process seems to be slower than I expected

Get it off the heat pad/mat!!! Just cause your using a grow kit doesn't mean you'll succeed without common cultivation knowledge. Somebody already duped you for your money so don't let it be for nothing. Read all you can, heat pad's have no place around colonizing substrates. And for now pretend they have no place in this hobby.

Or what? Are you afraid colonization will stall?

I want duped , I know its way over priced but like I've read in every single post people always saying this sort of stuff we already know !
I have grown a lot of shit my friend but never mushrooms , I live in ireland . I don't like in a nice climate country its always cold and windy here so I want to make sure it stays at room temperature
But if anyone know let me know why it would be bad using a heat mat , especially living in ireland
this weeks tempature here hasn't been above 7 c or 45 f

indoors is probably around 16-18 c ,
I live up in the mountains , they grow by my house for 2 months of the year when its nice and humid ,
from my picture , thats it with the heat mat constantly so maybe its working or slowing down fruiting ? because it has been 6 days now

Six days is too soon for fruiting after full colonization, so it probably isn't slowing anything down. 16C is too cold, and it looks like your arrangement with the heat pad and the pencils is working for you.

The heat pad will dry out your substrate. I'm happy to answer questions. But think about it, if your hearing the same thing over and over maybe it's the truth. If you don't like the experienced growers answers then you can keep asking and some 15 year old kid pretending to have grown tons of shit when he hasn't will tell you what you want to hear. I didn't mean to offend if you knew what everyone with experience knew about the kits did then you'd see I'm really just trying to help.
Also substrates already produce heat themselves so a heat pad just makes them even hotter and to much heat will enable the bad organisms and bacteria to thrive which equals more contams less fruits of your labor.

no believe me I am listening , I worry about the same thing
maybe i should not use it anymore . Its just because its quiet cold here so I doubt that inside the filter bag it would be any warmer ,
I mean I am seeing some progress , so your idea is just not to use the heat pad ?

i'm with van here, just keep up with the misting and make sure the pad isn't over heating your sub not the best solution but it appears to be going ok atm

Hey man you have knots and pins forming and it looks pretty decent!
What is the fruiting chamber you are using or are you fruiting in the open?

Fuck Heat pads.
There now that I said it, Heat pads can be a go to when the time and need is right. We all tend to hate on them, because they can lead to dried out subs. If you are growing in winter where it is really cold and it works, use it. Just make sure that you are using it in an environment that will support it. I would consider raising the misting schedule. Your heat pad will cause more evaporation and you need to replace the loss of moisture. It will also speed up evaporation which is a primary pinning trigger.
Now that you seem to have nice pins comeing along, maybe consider dialing the heat pad down a few degrees if it has that ability.
