Looks like yellow knotting?
    #21315264 - 02/22/15 09:56 PM (9 years, 10 months ago)

A little bit yellow, looks like it's knotting where it's yellow. Everything looks decent otherwise. My substrate mix wasn't very flat so it looks a little crazy.. Thoughts?

It is interesting how matted some of that mycelium looks.

Dry substrate is my 2 cents.

Hmm..it stays pretty misted. It's starting to pin.. Also, it's only like that where it's knotting up really big. It's not spreading

It's in a sgfc. I think it's drier on those parts because of the uneven level

Looks like my second or third flush substrates. Mist more and take pics of your sgfc, its probably not set up right.

I got 5 inches perlite and the sgfc is perfecto. I think it's because I fruited them a bit to early before they were ready. Now after trying to mist heavily their starting to get blue..

Are you fruiting those 3 jars invitro? If not, what's going on there?

Yea, had some extra jars that aren't the right shape and wanted to experiment with them.

Are those large jars buried in your perilite, or are those like jars you would buy with artichoke hearts or some antipasto in them?.......just sitting on the top? I'm trying to get a feel for your volume of perilite.

The depth is roughly 5 inches in depth. The jars are short

Yeah? Well, that ought to be plenty as long as you put it in there at field capacity.

The one thing that may be happening is poor FAE. You may want to get some air between the bottoms of all those containers and your perilite. Covering that much of the surface area of your container is bound to be restricting proper FAE through your perilite. Put them up on a grate of some sort.

Now there is a rack in it... Not much room to spare up top (3-5 inches) unless I cut it shorter...hmmmm

I think you'll find that that was your problem. Give it a couple days, and I'll bet you'll see signs of more healthy things going on in there...  :sunny:

Ya I hope so. Plus I fruited it a bit early on top of the lack of surface area for the perlite
