Nobody mentioned this tune? This one kicks so much ass. One of my favorite 90's songs for sure.

Really? Like there was actual controversy over the song? Like news worthy? Very interesting

Lets drop our favorite lines from grunge songs now.
Templar Paladin posted Pearl Jam - Black. I love the part where he goes: "I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star. In somebody else's sky but why, why, why can't it be mine!"
Or Smashing Pumpkins - Zero. The entire lyrics are amazing and quote worthy but I especially like when the beat drops and he goes, "Wanna go for a ride?!!!"

Such an ignorant thing to say
Mudhoney was one of the first and best grunge bands, and this album is dope
Idk, it's not one of my favorite genres by any means but pretty much every type of music has some stuff worth listening to.

Hell yea, that's a good one. I like "Something in the Way" from them. Its such a simple song. He plays the low E and A strings open and on the 4th fret... the entire song, over and over again. And I fucking love it!

Supposedly, he was at such at a low point in his life he was actually living under a bridge in Aberdeen under a tarp doing those things. Who knows if it's true but that's what the song is about.

I had a phase where it was just about all I listened to. Pearl Jam was my favorite band, I was fascinated with Cobain and Staley and Andy Wood, and the majority of my wardrobe was flannel. I'd even be lying if I said part of the extreme curiosity and attraction that I always felt towards opiates was due to its place in the grunge scene.
Obviously my tastes have diversified significantly since my late teens, but it's still a genre I can enjoy. Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns by Mother Love Bone is still one of the greatest songs I've ever heard.

This version of this song is epic, I love it. Certain times I feel like I could just listen to that on repeat for hours.
I don't wanna divulge into the whole thing about labeling grunge music and "alternative rock vs. metal" or whatever, like fliptown was talking about, like I get that these bands are different but they all kinda blew up from Seattle in the early 90s with Nevermind leading the way. But of the commonly known "grunge" bands, my favorite is probably AIC, kinda after Facelift I love their unplugged too, and Dirt of course. Soundgarden is great I was singing in my head "Blow Up The Outside World" on my way outside of work like a half hour ago. Nirvana is great, with another great unplugged. I don't listen to STP or Pearl Jam as much but they're still legit, that TOTD song is fun to sing along to lol "I don't mind, stealing bread..." what else, kinda depends where you draw the line but Mad Season has some cool shit, which is Layne + some other guys maybe some of the guys from PJ? Wouldn't really consider Modest Mouse grunge but in a way they almost are, and I like them.
I'm not really a "music head" if that makes any sense, well I actually probably am compared to the average person but not so much compared to the average Shroomerite you guys seem to all know your music pretty well haha, but the whole grunge sort of era, and the music of that time, is some of my favorite music. To me grunge is like early 90s (in time) I guess, but then again, there's cool shit that came out in the later 90s too. The 90s has most of my favorite music lol.
FWIW I was born in '91

What you said about the whole opiate attraction to the music plays a big part for me too. Like I can almost connect to the music, maybe that's why I love it so much. Not that I abuse opiates regularly, but just the relation they have to the music an era. Freshman year is when I heavily started listening to " grunge ". I love it. I'm now almost done with high school and it's stayed with me all 4 years.
