Yes there is a direct correlation between blueing and potency, I'm pretty sure that p.azurescens is partially named thus due to its tendency to blue (azure) due to its potency, though I may be wrong.

Lot's of the "pros" say the opposite actually.

From my experience, my bunkest batch didn't blue at all. And my dankest ones were blue looking motherfuckers.

Of course, anecdotes.

Blue is the oxidization of psiloscin reacting with other chemicals to create that shade. If you see blue you lost psiloscin that's already lost in the drying part.

Deeper blue is stronger but in turn also means you've lost content.

I also believed that but:

Bruising,
Bruising is still not very well understood.
It's been assumed that it's the degradation of psilocin but the evidence for that is shaky.
It's also possible it's connected to a related but separate enzymatic activity.
Either way there's no evidence bruising reduces potency and many have tripped on mushrooms so bruised they looked black.
.

so IDK

The amount that they lower it by is negligible but I still believe its psiloscin. Psiloscin is very chemically unstable, literally drying out your mushrooms leads to a complete loss in psiloscin.

One day someone smarter then us on this subject will run tests. Till then I don't really care, my mushrooms are still potent as fuck.

What you just said is not the opposite of what I said at all, its the exact same. Blueing may be an indication of potency, however said blueing is likely the destruction of psycoactive chemicals, rendering that sample slightly less potent. I think blue is an indI cation of a fruits potency before being mishandled.

Paul stamets states that p azurescens are so potent that breathing on them hard is enough to turn them blue.

I meant I agree with blueing being a sign of potency, from my limited experience.

But many people here say that that's complete bs.

If only we were scientists.

Oh, I misread. Somebody must have run tests similar to the tests required to answer this question in Holland where these mushrooms are, or at least we're legal. Legal Cannabis suppliers send their product to labs to have the cannabinoid profile tested, perhaps the producers in Amsterdam have done the same.

erowid sucks so fucking much. 90% of everything they have on hallucinogenic mushrooms is wrong/old or over exaggerated.

at least they call some of their stuff vaults. as in a place where you lock away old shit that you don't need to see.

Yeah, I asked that question a dozen pages back.  If they were super amazing they would be more common here.

I almost wanna buy a print, then just fruit, print, and give away. Just because they made a huge deal about copywriting/patenting there "hybrid"

:bigyesnod:

don't by into the hype the only way to get awesome cubes is to grow awesome cubes, and that requires practice. it's as easy as learning to ride a bike but most people are inadvertently trained by the very same teachers who tell them to have goals and dream to be too afraid of failing the first time

oh yea and good luck patenting and copywriting a schedule 1 drug or at least the counterpart to that in most other countries as well.

it's sort of the same kind of scam as those elaborate russian viruses that say the FBI just saw you watching child porn and then pops up porn in the background etc.. it's just crafty ways to catch a noob eye

all cubensis is contamination resistant, all of the higher fungi are niche environmental fruiterers but they wouldn't stand a chance if they didn't have some defense mechanisms.
