San Pedro question
    #2131583 - 11/24/03 12:44 AM (20 years, 4 months ago)

I want to make a San Pedro tea, but I don't have a blender available. Is there some other way I can do it, or will I just have to eat it?

Just chop it up as fine as you can get it I guess, and cook it longer.

Maybe mash it like mashed potatoes when it's good and cooked.

Do not just eat it. Take your desired length of cactus. A foot or more. Remove the spines. Then cut the cactus up into 1 inch discs. Let those discs dry for a month in a cool dark place. During this drying the mescaline content will rise. When the discs are completely dry and brittle. Take them and place them in water and simmer for a day. Then drain off the Brew after reducing to a cup or so. That procedure is how the Aneans make Chimera. Later.

Cool advice on both counts. However, for the impatient the mashed potato thing might be a solution. By taking some spud flakes and reconstituted small chopped cacti and just putting them together maybe with some jalapenos and whatever items one likes one could thereby get rid of the slime factor and hey, they could be good. I actually like my blended berry/cacti smoothy. The flavor can be used to an advantage. I recommend a good deal of butter and cream or milk to add richness to the mash, and some s+p, and maybe some cheese. You know
--Pedro's cheesy, jalapeno mashed potatoes.

mescaline nausea + pedro's cheesy, jalepeno mashed potatos = lots of burning/vomiting = not fun, imo

I boiled some cuttings in hot water for an hour and made a sort of tea. I just drank the tea(the most godawful stuff I've ever drank), but there's still the cuttings to worry about. I'm hoping the tea alone will be enough to trip, but I figure I should probably eat the cuttings too. But I really don't want to. That shit is so nasty! I guess I'll try to get up the willpower, but this ain't gonna be easy.

How exactly does the content rise?!

Loss of water, equals a hostile environment. Alkaloids have pre cursor chemicals. Those will change into mescaline as a defense to the drying process. It won't happen overnight, hence a month of curing. Later.
