this is my first time growing. colonization has been fine for most cakes, but after a week or so in the terrarium, a slight blue/green tint has formed on a couple spots on several cakes - one after each other.
Is this contamination? One is just starting to fruit too.
wondering if I should clean out the terrarium and start over? thoughts?
any help would be great.

do you mean the blueish stuff? that looks fine to me. The cake might have a bit of bacteria, the white stuff look a bit thick, but just let it be and keep misting once it looks dry and I bet it'll be fine!
post pics if the appearance changes!

Thanks, I'll keep it going and see how it changes. Do cakes typically have colorations that are ok other than white?

they can turn a bluish tint for bruising either from touching or drying out a bit.
next set of cakes you should roll in verm after dunking and rinsing them. once they are done colonizing leave for a week - 10 days for consolidation, rinse them well under the sink, dunk in a bucket of tap water for 24 hrs, rinse again, roll in dry verm, place in SGFC, wait a couple hrs and then mist them. fan out the chamber right after misting, wait until they no longer glisten from the prev. misting, then mist again and fan chamber right afterwards for a couple seconds, repeat when no longer glistening etc etc etc.

Those little pins on the bottom should be off the perlite. I would assume they're going to stall because of those huge pieces of perlite gangbanging it.
Grab some tin foil
I could be wrong, but better safe than sorry on the tinfoil

I got some foil and put it underneath the pins coming out. Should I just leave it like that or turn the cake over and let the bottom pin come out right side up?
Thanks for the help everyone!

leave the cake the way it is but put a circle of foil under the entire cake. if the cake touches the perlite it will try to colonize it. use the foil to separate the cake and the perlite but dont use too much foil, that will only stop air from coming up through theperlite from the bottom holes.
