Is this fully colonised?

Hi all,
This is my first attempt at growing (using a mycofarm kit). I'm unable to provide a warm temperature, so colonisation is a bit slow (this has been growing for 2-3 months). I was wondering, is this colonised enough to move to the next step?

Any advice much appreciated

Hello there. Welcome to the Shroomery.
I would spawn that. Give the mycelium a wiff before proceeding to the next step to make sure contamination isn't present.
If you don't mind me asking, what are your plans for all that spawn?

Please provide some more information. What is it you are growing? What kind of medium are they growing on? What temperature are they being grown at?
They don't look fully colonized and the bags look like they don't have enough air in them, you need a "plenum" of air in the bag to provide for some GE, (gas exchange). It looks like the filter you have on the bag, (it is a filter?) is blocked by mycelium, and not allowing a chance for gas to exchange.

That's weird. At this point, I am very suspect of your views on spawn bags. Sounds to me like you are just reciting what you have heard and aren't coming form a position of experience.
How do those bags not look fully colonized to you?

In the first picture you can see many grains that are not fully coated with mycelium.

Nah, bro. Going to flat out call you incorrect. I have processed hundreds of thousands of mycelium in spawn bags, and those grains look fully encapsulated with mushroom mycelium to me. Unless the smell check is employed and fails by OP, I would call that bag ready for expanding, and, or spawning to bulk.

What does contamination smell like?
By plans do you mean what am I going to do with the mushrooms at the end of all this? Well, eat them always wanted to try shrooms, and no-one I know can get hold of any right now, so.. Here we are

Contamination smells like dirt. Bacteria smells sour like an earthy-ammonia.
And nah, by plans I meant the next step in the cultivation process, such as, are you going to spawn the spawn to bulk substrate, AND, or expand upon the fully colonized spawn.

I'm following the guide here, the next step of which is the casing layer, and then start growing mushrooms from it. Is this the correct sort of thing to do?
