Trancendental and Mantra Meditation
    #2130701 - 11/23/03 03:55 PM (20 years, 4 months ago)

Just curious what mantras people use.

I started with the traditional "Om Mani Padme Hum"

then started using a relaxing "wisha washa wisha washa wisha wisha washa washa"

and lately I've been using "I am You are I am You are I am You"

Trancendental meditation teaches to use something significantly personal to you. I've read alot of places its best to have nonsense syllables. But i've learned no matter what you say, the meaning quickly fades away and the words become a uniform mental format.

"I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.
See how they run like pigs from a gun, see how they fly.
I'm crying.

I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus, goo goo goo joob."

I tried that one. Just made me indecisive.
