inoc straight to hp substrate with wbs core
    #21306678 - 02/21/15 01:25 AM (9 years, 2 months ago)

after some contam issues i am trying to cut out the pasteurisation stage and sterilise my
substrate and inoc direct with a lc. i am using 2 litre plastic trays with lids, with polyfill stuffed hole for GE.  These trays fit into my PC. Now I know that HP probably will never colonise just
from a squirt of LC so i have made a core of prepared WBS in the centre of the tray.  The idea is that i innoc direct to the WBS, wait for colonisaton then shake the tray to mix grain and hp witg
hout exposure to the atmosphere......any ideas whether this will work?

You can do this, modified to your trays... http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20591316

and saw a Cheshsire cat in a tree.
'Which road do I take?' she asked.
'Where do you want to go?' was his response
'I don't know', Alice answered.
'Then', said the cat, 'it doesn't matter.'"

are you sure your contamination issues were related to pasteurization?

pretty sure.....normally i use a sealed tub in a hot water bath on top of my wood burner. it n works fine but takes forever to get the hp up to temp at the top of the tub because it is not totally submersed. last time i used the pillow case tek with crappy results. so i figured to try something new.

have u tried just using jars or bags and "Franks proper pasteurization" TEK?
or just bucket TEK with coir/verm?

i think what ur doing will work, i would put GE and injection port on lid so u don't have to open it up at all.

You can always use turkey pan and cover it with foil. Then put it in the oven. Usually does take a while too but works well.
