Seriously WTF!!

It was trich.  It had spread over the last 14 hours and a small part started turning green.  I took it to the garage and dumped it in a garbage bag.  The site will not upload my photos right now.

Today it and my other coir tub were overtaken with cobweb mold. I sprayed the other tub with hydrogen peroxide, hoping it will come through.

The hpoo tub looks fine. The fact that the top layer is only 60% colonized at 14 days worries me though.

I go overboard on sterility. I know spawning is not sterile but being a noob I tried to minimize my risk. While I spawned in open air, I first bombed the place with neutra air, sprayed all surfaces with Lysol. Wiped the table, tubs, liner, and gloves with Iso. I even wore a surgical mask.

I find it odd that the coir tubs contaminated before the first flush but not the hpoo(at least yet).

Will the cobweb mold stay away once sprayed with hydrogen peroxide or does it usually come back?

Thanks for the help and warnings. I cancelled my plans to check on it.  I will soak some more rye tonight.

Remember the smell. It'll help you in the future.

We don't kno that it was the spawn. It sounds to me his pasteurisation temps and time were too low and too short .and if not it stills seems to me the error was made somewhere in the vicinity of or shortly thereafter the pasteurising procedure.acontaminant was introduced at this point or or possibly the chemicals used to prevent chaos actually became the cause of chaos. Long story short u screwed the pooch on this one bud

Yeah?  What temperature do you recommend for pasteurization?

I was gone 2 days and came back to this

I don't know what it is but I assume it goes outside then into a trash bag.

That's 2 of my 3 tubs. And they were both my CVG tubs. My last tub looks good and is almost 100% at 20 days.

I hear it must be my spawn but I honestly do not see where I made the mistake.  I followed RR's Tek for rye berries. I PCed for 105 minutes at 15psi. I inoculated with ms in a SAB, gloves, tyvek sleeves, flame etc. My spawn jar lids were purchased from a sponsor(SHIP & SFD).  To my inexperienced eyes they looked and smelled good.

I feel I actually went beyond the sterile procedure that a lot of people seem to use. I felt I was going overboard.

Where could I have messed up?  Any help would be appreciated. I do not want to keep repeating my errors, but if I do not know what they were, I surely will with the same result.
