take a deep breath in a highly populated city like minneapolis or chicago, than look me in the eye and say, "it smells wonderful and fresh here like pine needles and dirt." More than likly you will look at me and "say smells like shit, it smells like fossil fuel exhaust."

Why do you think the global warming theory is failing when 2014 is the hottest year on record?

Major pollutants dropping steadily since 1970--and this is one time I credit the government--even though it was that lying fucking crook Nixon who implemented this.

If you are an engineer you should understand my point about the statistical models.  And being the hottest year on record--and that is pointed out in many places as being severely skewed data with a very high uncertainty--means absolutely nothing compared to long term.

There are tons of studies and reports out there that the current climate doesn't fit well with global warming models, even the IPCC stated that in their 2013 report. That you only want to believe one side of the story is something I can't help you with.

If you note from my subject post, I said the fact that there are major flaws in the modeling and statistical theory being applied neither proves nor disproves AGW Theory.

My apologies - can you please point me to the thread or repost where it shows that 2014 being the hottest year on record is highly uncertain?  Or that the  trend isn't upward?

Global Warming is a misnomer. A more accurate term is Global Climate change. Rains are becoming more intense, or not coming at all for longer and longer periods of times. Storms are becoming intense. And the Oceans ARE warming up affecting climate systems all over the world. And the fact that the polar ice caps are melting at unprecedented rates is undeniable. Consider this, we humans have been spewing countless billions of tons of toxic gook into the air, sea and land for a very long time. We plant crops on marginal land that's unsuitable to the soil, we dam up and divert rivers, cut down forests at unprecedented rates, the list goes on and on. How can we NOT be affecting the environment? We destroy the Earth and we. will. die. All of us. We need a massive and radical new way of doing things right now, but I don't see that happening. I think I have seen the future for our species, and it is not good.

"Maybe, Maybe Not

Upon examination, NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies’ (GISS) analysis, using readings from more than 3,000 measuring stations worldwide, showed the increase was just two hundredths of a degree over the previous record, with the margin of error being several times greater than the amount of warming.

As a result, GISS’s director Gavin Schmidt backtracked, saying there was only a 38 percent chance 2014 was the warmest year on record."

Two problems.

1.  That chart doesn't show the long term warming trend since before 1997.
2.  That chart conveniently ends before the record 2014 temperature spike.

You're a master of deception.

I post an image for someone who asks for assistance... and that makes me a master of deception?

You have an odd way of looking at things. Either that or you simply don't pay attention, but rather, you leap into saying something stupid without thinking first.

He meant me.

There is nothing deceptive there.  There has been no warming for 18+ years and it includes half of 2014.

Then he should figure out the quote function. Nor would I assume a person of with his lack of character actually did mean you.

I think he should know who linked the graph if he read the thread and we both know he reads us.  Like a hawk, lest one of our deceptions should get by his intrepid scrutiny.
